Stoopid car tricks...

Was wondering if any one elses car does this...

I noticed a while back that when I hold the button for the passenger side window control up on the driver side door when the passenger side window is already up something clicks from the passenger side door. Infact every time I pull the button up I hear the click... sounds kinda like a electronic relay or something. Also if I do the same for my window (driver side) it doesn't make this sound.

Just today I noticed while car is in park but running if you depress the break pedal a few times something under the glove box will start clicking everytime you press the pedal. Im guessing its related to the ABS?

the thing you hear clicking is the shift lock...it moves out of the way when you depress the brake pedal...that's why you can't shift out of park until you press the brake...
the click is a relay so that the motor in the door for the window does not get burned out...at least that's what I would think it is...

what Astroboy said. Almost every electrical component in the car gets power through a relay, otherwise, the switches will get hot and eventually fried.

Stupid

OK, here's another thing... is there any way to make it so that the power seat moves forward for someone to get out of the back seat while the car is in drive? Is there a relay I can rip out or tweak?

Yup, if you dare to do it.
Do it at your own risk. I will be held reliable for your action.
Here it is. Under the seat, there are 2 harnesses (connectors). On the bigger one, locate a Blue/Black wire. According to the HELM manual, this wire should be grounded when Shift lever is in "P". To trick it, just remove the wire from the system and connect it directly to ground. The passenger seat should slide even the Shifter Lever is in "D" or any position. Good luck.

EDIT: I'm thinking of doing this too cuz it slips my mind about putting the shift lever to "P" all the time.

I always wondered why that passenger sometimes moved forward and sometimes not. I never made the connection about the car not being in "Park." Thanks!
