Got a pic of your tire? I'd like to see how much the 235's bulge out

Some people have problems with after market wheels and 235's because of different offset and backspacing.

I sure hope you will is in order. According to your sig, you are running P7000s in 235/40-17 size.

The load rating is an 84 (stock is 93) -- this means you have given up about 300lbs per front tire of load rating -- that is way low.

The rolling radius of the tires is about an inch shy of the stock tires -- 24.5" vs 25.4" stock.

You speedo now reads at least 4% too fast.

The minimum recommended wheel width is 8", with 8.5 listed as the measuring wheel rim width.

If you have a NAVI, it must be going nuts constantly having to "dither" the satellite position info with the wheel speed info.

I sure hope you just forgot to put in 45 in lieu of 40 (for the tire's profile/series) -- Please check.

If not, please don't drive too fast, or carry any passengers without signed safety wavers (I'm not kidding)

EricL,

Could you recommend ( from a safety perspective ) a All Season High Performance tire in a 235/45/17. Some have load ratings of 93 / 94, Dunlop Sp5000's and BFG KDWS. Pilot XGT-Z4's are great tires, though rated at 91.

Ever find your pitures the 235/45/17's on stock rims? No one's ever posted a picture of this combo. TIA

Hey Eric...How do you like the Toyo tires as compared to the stock Michelin. I am considering getting these tires on 17" any feedback on you tires would be helpful.

Technique said that he had some pictures of the Toyo T1S Proxies (235/45ZR17-93Ws) on the 17x7 (stock rims).

I never had any photos taken of mine. Sorry, my old SLR is so messed-up that it isn't worth fixing and I'm being cheap and waiting for more pixels in a digital camera. (We all make trade-offs with "goodies".)

The load rating of 93 is fine and some of the people on the forum are running 91 rated tires (since they are 225s). The Toyos have higher load ratings and are XL rated in a number of sizes.

The 93 rating is fine, you just wont have the XL rating of the stock tires. If you don't plan on running through the desert (130 degrees) at high speeds with a full load of passengers, I wouldn't worry about it.

I think an 84 rating is just too low -- it's my opinion...

Finally, as far as the “all-seasons”, I am buying my wife the Yoko AVS-db in a 205/60-15. I checked around and a bunch of people like them, but I haven’t tried them myself. I will know in a few months (Once again, if you find some great tires you like, the 91 rating will probably be OK.)

I gave a member who was considering the Pirelli Rossos a try, and he will probably go with the Toyos.

I love them. I am very happy with them and I bought them for dry, rain, and wet freeway driving. I would never put the stock tires back on the car!

They have a rather nasty tread design, they are 97 load rated; XL rated, and have great grip on all kinds of surfaces.

The stock tires suck on new pavement (black top). The Toyos work much better. In fact they probably stick better in the wet than the stock tires do in the dry.

I didn't mind the stock tires out on open face pavement (sand paper like surfaces), but I though the stick was pathetic on black top (new pavement).

They are not an all-season tire, but they will work well down to pretty cold temps.
