Stereo question

Is it possible to hook up a subwoofer and amp to the stock stereo or do you need to upgrade?

yes, you can hook it up to the stock stereo. I don't know how, but I've read posts of people who have done it. Your best bet is to search the audio section.

you need a hi-lo output converter( i think thats whats it's called ), won't sound as great as aftermarket decks though..i tapped mines from my rear 6x9s for signal..sounds decent.

yes you can.... you use speaker wire rather than RCA's for your amp. I ran it in my maxima, and now in my wife's Infiniti. It sounds good.... you just need to have the stereo shop put in a seperate gain control up near your seat to control the power that your amp is putting out. If you don't do that, you can only control the bass through the stereo "bass control".
