Stayed ahead of a modded turbo RX-7

The other day I was driving along and see this red RX-7 turn into the lane next to me. I gassed it a little (2nd gear) just to see what's up and because I like those cars. The kid looks over, kinda smiles and nods and then GUNS it up to the rev limiter and gets squirley and flies up ahead of me. We both happened to turn right at the next light so I figured what the hell, I don't have a chance anyway let's see what happens. So I catch up next to him in 2nd gear, hessitate for a second and then punch it, he does the same! I was at the perfect 5000rpm so I got a little jump, I guess before his turbo could get him going... he was at my rear bumper. And he stayed there! GO CL! It was about a 30-90mph run. Next light he gave a wave and turned off That was fun...

Unlikely.

Then again, anything can happen on the street.

Those cars have some good speed potential in them. I'd love to know exactly what the guy had done to his car.

My Dad had an '88 Turbo II...thing was pretty quick. I had it to 135 on the highway once, but I could barely keep it one lane. Shit was all over the place, with the steering wheel bouncing like f*ck. Scared my ass enough to bring it right back down.
