Status of the IceBox Intake

Hey guys. I just got back from the Superbowl on the team bus and was wondering what the status is for the release date. I have not had a chance to browse the forums in over a week because I have been in San Diego. The last time I checked it should have been released by now.

Actually here is a response to an email i sent them just today asking them about the release date and about the "noise" issue they had which delayed production of the intake...

hope this helps you guys out....

The noise issue was a resonance that happened at idle only on the Type S
cars. Apparently the reason we had it on our intake and it wasn't on the AEM
was due to difference in the length of the tubes. Once you were above idle
it went away. In general, our Ice Box intakes are much quieter than any cold
air intake that uses an exposed filter element. Ours doesn't have that WOT
scream either. Just last Friday we finished doing test fitting on the
different cars and have given the OK to the company that does the
roto-molding for us. I hope to be shipping 6-speed intakes in a couple weeks
but that is dependant on when we receive the molded pieces and getting them
thru production. I appreciate your patience while we fixed this noise issue.
Our engineering staff spent alot of time analyzing the sound and developing
a solution for it.

they may have developed them at the same time, i'd shoot them an email or call them to ask them, if you want i can email them for you, just send me a pm and i'll do it, they've been good about responding to my emails.

i know it's taken them a long time and for all those people that bag on them for it taking too long i think you should be a little more appreciative only cuz there aren't many companies that make parts for our car, and on top of that, i'd give up a month or two wait for an intake that's proven to deliver more hp than products already on the market anyday.

Finally I can get rid of my AEM. The AEM is damn noisy.
