static problems with new stereo

I recently purchased the JVC KD-AVXI receiver to replace the stock deck in my 01 CL-S. For those who are aren't familiar with it, it is deck with a 3" screen that plays DVD movies, etc. I also have an amp installed for my 10" sub.

Any way, when I play movies or music in it, I get a lot of humming background noise. I had a stereo person check it out and he seemed to think it was from the deck and not the amp since there was not humming noise when the volume is off.

Has anyone else had this problem with other decks? Could the problem be from the stock bose speakers? What can I do to get rid of it?

Help a brother out.

Try the A/V section.

Do you get the noise with the engine on and not off? Possible altenator whine. Maybe a ground loop problem.

i may have to agree with you. does the sound get higher or louder as you accelarate or step on the gas? most likely it is from the alternator. make sure your ground is clean and run power wires away from rcas and speaker wires. you can also get a ground loop isolator.

The noise is also there when the engine is off. With the engine on, sometimes it gets louder or softer. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
