Starting Mods

I have had my 01 for just over a year now and have finally decided to put a little money into it. My new parts should be here any day now. i have ordered:

AEM V2 cai
Progress sway bar
B&G shock and strut system
oem spoiler

While the car is in the shop i am also having my headlights/roadlamps fixed, debadging the A-C-U-R-A, and the paint touched up

if any one has any opinions or advice on what i have or what i should do next let me hear them, good or bad

Where did you get original spoiler and how much? I'm debating between original and M5.

I just did the B@G shocks /springs (excelerate's site) And The car handled alot better after the upgrade and was still very comfortable ride, not harsh at all. Then about 2 weeks later I added the progress RSB (heeltoe's site) and now the car handles GREAT.
Turns i used to take at 40 im now taking at 60-65 with no problem. I had a CAI put in like 8 years ago so i dont remember how much it helped out ( I do remember it made the car sound \allot sweeter) I also got a option lightwiegt pulley recently and I THINK it helped a little.. Next its headers for me (im torn between megan and dc sport) and then I'm done with mods ( i would like a m5 lip spoiler but want the color to match) I really dont like the oem spoiler.

Can i make a suggestion... I would buy new sway bar links (for the back at least) cuz when taking off the stock RSB u are gonna kill the OEM links (the way they are made u need vise grips to hold one end when unscrewing the other) I went with MOOG sway bar links off rockauto they where like $80 for all 4 shipped I belive..

You are making some great choices I did alot of research when doing all this to my car.
In parts you are looking at about $700 for B@G/Progress and MOOG..

R u doing the work yourself?
Good luck!
U will not be dissapointed!

AEM v2 is a waste of money, way too overpriced for not much benefit, get front and rear sways, the rest sound good

i heard front sways arent that good. not much bang for the price and it kinda counteracts the rear sway causing more oversteer or understeer? i forgot which one.

You're thinking of understeer btw =)
Well, the stock bars are hollow, and normally the upgrade bars purchased are solid and a tad beefier, it isn't an OMGZ difference, but most people do it anyways when going all out on suspension. Coupled with springs/shocks/or coilvers and STB/USB/RSB it makes for a really good working system. I wish they made a rear strut for our cars..just to help chassis rigidity

Great start...Post pics once u r done and good luck..
What r u doing to ur Headlights/Roadlamps?
Perhaps u can consider LED's for the entire interior or u can go with PIAA bulbs.
Cost is minimal but will give an awesome effect.

I think the OEM spoiler makes the rear of the car look shorter, which I like.

Definately post pics of your progress.

Why dont u order the parts and just bring it to him they will charge up the wazoo for parts..

www.rockauto.com all4 moog links where like $80
www.excelerate.com or heeltoe for the rsb is $130-$150 depending on which one, then just hand him the parts and show him where to put them!

I'd try finding someone who's worked on our CL's before. They'll get the job done 30% quicker with zero screw-ups. Sure it may be a lil more $ but who knows what you'll pay if some wackjob mechanic touches your ride after the fact.

I happened to FLUKE out meeting a guy at the DLR who's worked on 100s of CL's and TL's and done plenty of comptech supercharge systems on these cars so I just bring it there and tell him to hook my BABY up. Price is secondary, quality is primary!... I learnt that from my last car, it went to several different shops all of which did there own screwups so none of the shop could figure the car out.

That's the last place you want to be lol.

remember... most of the time if you "buy cheap u buy twice"
