Stage III tansmission & VSA Problems

Okay, I picked up the car this weekend, after having a few new modifications performed on it. Mainly: Stage III rebuilt transmission, B-pipe, and Brembo 13" GT brake kit.

Now I have a problem with my VSA system. Actualy, there is no dsiscernable problems other than BOTH of my VSA lights comming on and staying on after a little driving. The shifts are crisp and hard and The car is driving the best it ever has (for those of you who remember my dyno issues: the car dyno'd on Sat the 3rd on a DynoDynamic's AWD dyno and it hit 240 FWHP at 6800 RPM ) this was a far cry from the 215 it was putting out earlier, any considering the only power adder was the B-Pipe: the increase was due almost entirely to Fuel tunning, imparticular in pulling out more and more full)

So my problem is obviously the new tranny is setting off some type of VSA trigger, but the problem doesn't manifest itself in driving, just on the guage pods.

So what type of "ERROR or PROBLEM" does having BOTH VSA lights come on and stay on signify? Jens? Thanks any ideas or questions welcomed!

what type of tuning did you do. Sorry if there was an earlier posts that explained all this but could you bring me up to speed on what you exactly did?

The ECU has detected some sort of malfunction in the transmission. Find out what the code is and we can go from there. It is most likely a wire issue, etc.

01-CLS: I had only posted previously about my abysmal dyno results. This time basicaly all we had to do was to keep pulling full out to lean out the engine. It was just running way to fat. Comptech suggested parameters had it still too rich and it was just a matter of reducing full ratio to get more out of the engine.

Scalbert: I was had the same problem when I would squeeze occasionaly on my old tranny. However, in both cases these lights go off and reset once the car is turned off. Does the Helms mention the VSA light which actualy says "V.S.A" What does it signify? Also when I am driving with both lights on, the VSA button no longer does anything, so I am trying to figure out if it is working or not, it feels just like it's toggled off. And finally, is there any way to remove or disable my VSA system without setting off an Error? Thanks

Let me read through the manual tonight and get back with you on both points.

One other things, have you tried to dyno with the catalytic converter unhooked?? Give that a try next time.

No the big boost pulley will go on with the MDX block that has lowered compression 9.0:1. With the 3.5, 8psi pulley, and new nozzels we hope to see nice gains. ETA on 3.5 conversion is late Feb. or March

BTW 240 is still low compared to what others have seen with similar type of modifications, but a HELL of a lot better than 215:o

The only reason I'm NOT mad at you right now is because I was out of town I want another ride.

B-Pipe sounds good don't it? Same reason I bought hte exhuast, I loved the way it sounded. This B-pipe has a great low tone to it and I love hearing it.
