I already read about this in the owners manual, it could be one of a few things. So my question is, have any of you had this occur, if so, what was the problem, and was it costly? Also is this common?

Just had the tranny replaced.

 

why the SRS will come on:
1> blown fuse
2> if you tap any electrical accessory in that fuse (radar detector/LED lights/etc)

if either of those scenarios are not true then i suggest unplugging the battery and resetting your ECU.....i think that light should go off....

PS: Before you unplug the battery make sure you have your Radio/Navi codes handy !!!

 

No, you have to do the SRS reset procedure. You can Google it.

If that doesn't work, then you have an actual SRS problem.

There is a factory recall on this issue...it is related to the seat belt or something. Check the forum above for troubleshooting...there are countless threads (search...). Most dealers will repair it free of charge if it meets the recall criteria. If not, it could be one of the issues noted above.

 

yea i had this issue and just did the reset and it was all fine and dandy..

 

I just did the SRS reset on my CL, it takes about 30 seconds if you have a paper clip or a pair of wires. And thanks for the idea, that light's been driving me nuts for months!
