SRS DTC 15-3 code Set by Electronic interference
My dealer just told me about this today, thought it was good info.
Possible re-post, but good stuff to remember anyway.
"On '00-02 3.2TLs, 01 3.2CLs, 99-02 3.5RLs, and 01MDXs, the OPDs sensor in the front passenger seat-back pad is very sensitive and can set SRS DTC 15-3 (faulty OPDS sensor) if it's exposed to even small amounts of electronic interference. Some electrical devices that plug into the vehicle's accesory power socket, especially those using a power converter/inverter, can cause a FALSE DTC 15-3 code.
Ask your customer if he/she uses an aftermarket electical device near the front passenger's seat (laptop computer, strobe light, neon light, ozone generator, seat heater, handheld radio, etc.) If the answer is 'yes', clear the DTC with the PGM tester, then explain to the customer that the OPDS sensor is very sensitive to electrical interference, and electrical devices should not be used near the seatback."

It can be set by an electrical interference but our cars including tl's and mdx's are notorious for this code. We even have a service bulletin for codes 15-3 and 15-1. The bulletin recommends replacement of the OPDS unit w/ an updated one. That's what we've been doing for like 2 years now. Like I said it could be cause by a cigarette lighter plug-in like a cell phine cgarger but not too likely. Trust me...I replace like 3 OPDS units every other week or so.
