Squeaks and Sounds

I have a '03 CL-s 6spd. with about 14,500 miles on it
I was just wondering if anybody has had any squeaking noises coming from the sun roof on bumpy roads. It took me a little to figure it out. But I finally put my hand on the sunroof and the squeaking stopped. It seems to me it is the rubber sealing around the sunroof. Anybody know if I can put something on the rubber to make it shut up?

Another noise that I am getting, and is a bit more serious. When I am engaging the clutch mainly on hills or anytime the car wants to roll backwards. My clutch make a squeaking noise just before it is fully engaged. Now I know that some high performance clutches squeak more and are chattery. But mine is stock.

I did not learn how to drive standard on this car, and I have been driving standard for about 5 years. I mean, I don't think it is my driving. I don't race the car. I mean I make it get up and go, but so do all of us.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The noisey sunroof is a known problem and Acura has a fix for it, the clutch noise is a new one for me. Make an appointment for the dealer to fix the sunroof (under warranty) and look at the clutch. Let us know what they say.

good luck.

Sunroof noise - Bring to dealer, they have tape (clear) that they use on the outside surface of the sunroof opening. The cause is the rubber seal rubbing against the sheet metal. I just had mine fixed and it nice and quiet now!

As for your clutch situation, ??? Ask dealer to look at it (maybe all it needs a WD40 or something).

I had a squeaky clutch pedal...the spring for the clutch just needed some lubing...had that problem maybe at my first oil change (at 3750 miles)...never heard the squeak since and I'm not at about 11500 miles.

the Acura CL-S is notorious for being a rattle monster, its actually quite sad how many different and specific rattles and squeaks have been documented by many many people. hopefully the new TL and the TSX have better build quality. in the meantime, be ready for frequent dealer visits for annoying rattles, in the year i owned my CL-S, it was in the shop no less than 10 times all for rattling.

Most likely the clutch pedal pivot point needs a bit of lubricant. But tell us if the sound is inside the car or more like a nopise from underhood.

For few days I was truing to figure out what was that noise and then I cracked sunroof open and it stopped…and then I was like “ahhhh that’s what everyone was talking about!!!”
How do you explain that to a dealer and how long does it take for them to fix it?
Please let me know!!
Thanks

That sun roof noise is the most annoying thing. They know there is a problem but they decide not to fix it up front, and waste your time with a simple remedy. I have the same problem now on my sun roof in my accord. I might just run out to some auto shop and pick up something. anyone know exactly what it is they use to stop the squeaking?
