Spray Paint Your CL!

I was backing into my garage yesterday after I got home from work. I got halfway in to suddenly hear a loud BANG. What the f*k was that?? I jump out, walk around the back of the car to see Rust color paint everywhere!! Some how a can of Rustolium spray paint rolled into the path of my tire and exploded all over my garage and car!

The whole passenger side and rear wheel was covered in a Rust red. Luckily I had a bottle of Nufinish wax, and right there in the pouring rain I spent an hour scrubbing the red paint off my car. My garage now looks like a murder scene. My shammy, microfiber towels, sponges, and pads are all ruined. I cant wait to get my car up on a lift and see the damage. I can see paint splattered behind my mufflers so who knows how bad it is. My rear tires are now red. On the bright side I need new rear tires anyway.

Its good thing my SSM paint had a good sealant protecting it. That made this cleaning process much easier. Luckily I cleaned 99% off, good thing it wasnt very hot and sunny out. It was a b*tch getting it off all the corners of my RonJon Inspyres. The paint wasnt even mine, Ive never seen it on the floor before. Heres a shot I took midthrough cleaning after I calmed down...

Believe me, my whole neighborhood probably heard me. The fact that it came off followed by some mary jane calmed me down completely.

that mary jane does wonders

did it just wipe off or did you have to use a solvent to get it off. I ran over a full gallon of black paint on the freeway in my Infiniti M30 a few years back. took me forever to get it off without ruining my pearl white paint. damn painters.

It did not wipe off with a cloth. That was my first attempt. Thank god I found a half full bottle of NuFinish wax, that did the trick. I dont use that stuff but they should put me in their commercial

you didn't need to ruin all your cleaning gear. some thinner and a rag would have cleaned that off in a snap, no matter how dry it was.

That does suck real bad. Did the rouge spray get your cleaning supplies, or did you ruin them by trying to remove the spray?

I havent attempted to get the paint off my cleaning supplies, I'll find time to do that Saturday. Im installing a resonator sometime within the next week so that will be my opportunity to get a good look at the undercarriage.

the advise was to use thinner and old rags to get it off the car, not to get it of your cleaning supplies. Those are probably ruined.

The nufinish wax I used took the paint off all the body panels. Everything is cleaned up, now I just have to take care of underneath the car.
