sportshifting

i should be receiving my 03 types in about 2-3 weeks. I wanted to know how to use the sportshift. Thanks for any help!

Up to upshift, back to downshift. No control over the 1-2 shift either way. If trying to shift at redline, shift before redline or you'll hit the fuel cutoff. Don't let you foot off the gas during the shift.

I thought the '03s didn't come with sportshift. I have a '03 CLP, with sportshift, but I thought the '03 CLS only came in 6-spd form.
I could be wrong though, I'm a new owner.

Only 2700 Type S's are 6 speed. The rest are auto.

i always use ss mode when i go for race..and i push my engine rpm all the way to 6500 rpm and then upshift...mostly i only use d3 and d4 during race...d5 is for fuel efficiency..

i dont have too much manual experience, but could get around in one. i aint in all that racing stuff.

Good illustration but it's reversed. The + and - should be on the other side :P

I usually let off the gas when i switch gears so u get that pause more like a true manual. nothin wrong wit that right?

Don't do it. It confuses the computer and results in an akward shift.
