Speeding Ticket in PA

I got a ticket on Saturday the 29th on RT 80 going 87 in a 55 but the trooper was super cool and gave me a 65 in 55 and a seatbelt ticket even though I had my seatbelt on. Which is OK with me...

Im not sure how the plea bargaining thing works in PA... If it was in NJ I know I could go to court and you can plead to a lower charge without points. Im only worried about the points.

What can I do...

Seatbelt = 2 points, and there will be 2-3 points for the 65 in a 55 - Points can carry over from PA -> NJ (they do most of the time from what I hear)

Everytime I have gone to court I have been able to plead to a lesser charge and have the points dropped...Good luck!

When I went to court it was my first offense so the judge lowered the fine and dropped two points. It really depends on what judge you get becuase my uncle walked into court and the judge said do you have a clean record and he said yes, the judge resonded with lets keep it that way and dropped the charges

Yea. They are pretty easy when it comes to having the points dropped. The fine will probably stay the same but you can definitley lessen the points.

So PA gives points for not wearing a seatbelt. In NJ its just a fine. I only thought the speeding came with points.

Thanks for the info... Do you think the court system with be different because I'm from out of state.

Do they double the fine and take the points how much am I looking to be paying..

Seatbelt = $60
Speeding = $124

My only speeding ticket to date was 77 in a 55 and the officer knocked it down to 65 in a 55 the fine was something like 125 and there were 2 points.

One time, I was pulled over for going 82 mph on 55 mph on Rt. 80 in PA. When the cop pulled me over, I existed to the rest area going about 45mph when the exit sign said 25mph. The as**ole cop gave me a ticket for the 1st speeding and "let me off" on the second alleged speeding while I exited.

I was pissed and made a long trip back to PA from NJ for the Court. I asked for the prosecutor, and at this stupid town, the cop that gave me the ticket IS the prosecutor. So I asked the the cop/prosecutor if I can get off the hook on the points, he simply said NO mentioning that I should have gotten 2 speeding tickets at first place.

Later, I found out that maximum of 2 points carry over to NJ. So if the offense was a 6 point offense in PA, you will only get 2 points in NJ. I wouldn't waste my time going back to PA for 2 points.
