Hi all,

I was coming home from school driving on I-10 Westbound doing around 75 MPH, the speed limit is 55 MPH. I was following a ricey eclipse that was doing the same speed. The eclipse got over one lane and slowed down in speed. I didn't notice but a motorcycle Phoenix PD pig was merging into the carpool lane. As soon as I passed him he pulled behind me and turned on the lights. I passed a semi and got over to the shoulder.

The cop was a real dick telling me since I live in a house that I should have Arizona plates (i have alaska plates). He asked me why I was in such a hurry and I told him I was tired as hell and needed to go home and go to sleep. I went to sleep at 4:30 last night and slept for about 2 hours...

I didn't have an updated insurance card so he wrote me a ticket for not having insurance until I prove otherwise... FUCKER.

I just called traffic school and I'm not eligible for another month(fucking great) which means I either have to:
Pay the fine and get 2 points deducted(fuck me)
fight it and try to get it reduced(judges are dicks and always side with the pigs)

I dunno what to do... HELP!

The cop said that I was doing 80. He didn't radar me though he just used his speed + what he estimated I was doing over his speed.

The funny thing is after I drove off going 55 was rediculously slow... Everyone was doing 70+ so it's not like I was excessively speeding. Dude if I go 55 MPH I get passed by fucking semis and huge oversized trucks doing 65+.

 

The cop did his job, you were speeding (20 over), didn't have proof of insurance, and he's correct about living in a house. Why are you mad at the cop and not yourself?

 

shit atleast u dont live in NY got a fucking ticket yesterday 95 in a 55 MPH zone thats like 8 points right there, damn cl got too much speed!

 

I got one comming back from NY last week, I told the cop I had a Top Secret clearance background check going on, which is totaly true, and I couldn't have any tickets for the last 2 years. Well I got one anyway!!!!I was doing 78 in the 65.

You passed the cop. You broke the golden rule. If you are going to flow with the traffic, you have to slow down next to the cop, cruise along side for awhile, then speed up.

You can't pass them especially just one lane over.

 

Sorry AK_MOBBER, but in AZ speeding is 3 points! Only 3 point ticket on the books, everything else thats not a 8point ticket (only 4 charges) is a moving violation and is worth 2 points.

 

Yeah, it sucks...I feel ya. The plate thing...well, it is true. In a way, you telling him that you only slept 2 hours....your lucky he didnt hit you with reckless endangerment.

Here's the thing...reschedule court...so then you will be eligible for traffic school...and go to court...the judge will probably give you a reduced fine too. First time to court is an arraignment to enter a plea and if you plead not guilty, then you are given a real court date.

 

Does anyone know how many points is 44 in a 25 MPH zone (in front of a school) is? This would be in CA.

I'm a full time student, I live in a house that I don't own so I don't have to get AZ plates (alaska plates are half as much $$). He couldn't hit me with reckless endangerment even if I told him I hadn't slept in a week.

Even if I reschedule court I will not be elligible to take traffic school because in AZ it goes by the ticket date - not the court date.

I'm gonna plead NO CONTEST and ask that no points be taken off since I've been good for almost 2 years. I am also going to show the judge that I won't be coming back by sharing with him my new technique for not speeding.
Whats my new technique??
Simply take a peice of paper or some other solid material and cover up the rest of your spedometer. I covered everything after 65 MPH with a peice of white paper. My logic is that I won't go faster than 65 MPH because going faster than 65 MPH will make the spedomerter needle disapperar and I will have no clue how fast I'm going.
Of course you can still punch it but the needle will disappear and you won't know how fast your going. I tried it today coming home from school and it worked! I briefly punched it to make the needle disappear and I had no clue how fast I was going. I promptly slowed down to 60 MPH after that just to test my theory.
