Velocity Resources....

Nobody is picking up. Website isn't working. Nobody has gotten in an email with any updates. I don't want to sound the alarm bell a bit too soon but my card was charged March 2 and it's now April 2nd and I as well as other people haven't recieved anything. Can one of the mods check on this? Dean seems like a good dude but we've had similar instances in the past.

I actually heard from him on Friday. He's been busy as hell, along with being sick, so I'm not sure if he's in the office.

If you're talking about your card being charged for the Icebox, vendors are supposed to be getting an update this week about the status. Hopefully it's good news b/c I have a bunch of people waiting too.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry.. they aren't going anywhere. They are one of, if not the biggest Comptech distributor in the country, so that should be comforting as to their staying power

I just spoke to Dean on the phone last week when I ordered a set of Gorilla Wheel locks for my RAV4.
I haven’t gotten them yet, but it’s only been a few days.

I have his direct number. I’m not sure it he wants it posted here, so PM me if you want it.

Dean and Silas have been out sick and are seriously backlogged. Shouldn't be cause for concern, but your delay sucks!

Still around. We honestly had no idea that the website for Speed Distributors was down and are on the phone with our webmaster right now fixing that--thank you for bringing this to my attention!!

We have been playing catch up for days. Both Silas and I have been under the weather and have a mound of paperwork we are working on.

We should be all caught up--at least that is what Comptech is telling me--on the Iceboxes by the end of the week/early next week.

I know I have not been actively on the boards lately, but I can assure you that I will be around to bug all of you for some time to come.

Thanks to all of you guys for the support.

let me chime in here, since I have spoken to both Silas and Comptech ...
This is totally consistent with what Silas indicated to me yesterday AND what Bob at Comptech told me when I spoke to them on the phone (see my thread about ICEBOX update 4/1/03).
Bob told me that he'd take the hit for the delay in the ICEBOX's due to problems with the company subcontracted to do the molding for him. I think Dean has taken an enormous hit here but it isn't really his fault .. out of his control and all. The only unfortunate part is the non-returned pm's, emails, phone msgs etc, but based on what Bob told me yesterday he hopes that this will be resolved soon. There is another number for Velocity if anybody wants it, cuz I also got the recording for their phone no as reflected on the web, but I got Silas on another number. I don't think we're being screwed, just an unfortunate scenario of demand really outstripping supply - especially since juniorbean weighed in and also did a group purchase - really set Comptech back on their heels. Bob told me they'd probably have a million made and just let them sit on the shelf based on this. fyi

For those of you who dont check the comptech parts fourm, i also called comptech for an explination on what the hell is going on with the ICEBOX'S and here is the responce i got that is also posted in the comptech parts fourm.....

Ok guys, just got off the phone with BOB over at COMPTECH, and he said that he pritty much garunteed me that they will be going out either tomorow (thur) or friday the latest. He said that again there guys like fell of the face of the planet and that they were working on packaging them tonight and that all of DEANS orders should be going out. He said that in deans defence, it was realy more there fault then deans, and that the origonal batch that they got was faulty. He said that hes going to try to ship the iceboxs directly from there, and not send them first to dean, so that we can get them faster. He said though that tomorow should be the day they go out. Hope this helps everyone still waiting on these.
