Speaker Upgrade

Starting speaker upgrades soon. For the front speakers, should I go with the Infinity Reference component system or Infinity Kappa 3-ways and disable the component speaker? Which would sound better?
I also really want an Alpine Type-S 12" sub to go in the trunk just because of the name (I know it's a stupid reason)

Components sound superior to coaxials. Go with the Reference.

Id go with components, i never was a fan of 3 way speakers, also look into boston acoustics they have some great components and i think they are great for the money.

TS-A6965 high level speaker PIONEER 6X9 $65.00 / pair

TS-G1647 high level speaker PIONEER 6 1/2" $59.00 / pair

I went with these last week with a 200w amp powering them and then I put in a 12 inch sub box home made with a 100 w amp,, The problem last night was the ground is very noisy and at the head unit we put in a radioshack filter that still didn't stop the buzzing. I'm now rethinking and will probably change the head unit.

Definetly go with components, you already have the hole and locations for them you may as well do it. They will definetly sound better than a set of 3 ways. I'm personally going all JL when I finally do a system .. JL components, 6x9's, W6 sub, and JL 500\1 and JL 300/4.

I've had JL in a previous vehicle and love their equipment. amps are rock solid and the subs sound amazing .. we'll see about their speakers.

I actually wasn't a fan of the JL components I heard... at least listening next to MB Quarts and Infinity Kappa Perfects. Wasn't bright enough for me... maybe they just put a lot of emphasis on lower frequencies like their subs :P I still need to find a place around here to listen to some M3's on Ron's recommendation.

Should be under A/V

Please go with component speaker system because of everything already mentioned. However, please take the time to listen to the Reference Line from MB Quart, I have the QSDs but I think the the RSD are very good for the relative price. Pick what sounds best to you.
