Something is wrong with this Dyno!

Looking at this dyno chart, UR AV6 pullies, the torque and HP curves crosses at different rpm. The before curve crosses at > 5200 rpm and after curve < 5000 rpms

It seems wrong for me

sounds BS to me, all cars crossover at 5252 RPM

they'll always cross @ 5252 RPM, 1 HP is equivalent of 33,000 ft lbs of work per minute, and at 5252 RPM, 1 ft lb is equal to 33,000 ft lbs of work per minute, so they equal out. just like at 2,626 the HP is half the torque, or at 7,878 the HP will be 1.5 times the torque, or at 10,504 the HP will be double the torque. and no matter what the peak torque RPM is, its always gonna cross with the HP @ 5252 because HP is calculated, and at 5252 1 hp = 1 TQ, or however much power you make.

ghander....

thanks for that info, I guess we learn something new everyday.

Then I guess my dyno was fairly accurate.

yeah, I was a lil' surprised at how low my dyno was too...

Then i heard that Mustang Dynos were typically lower on average than others (ie: DynoJet).

Supposedly Mustangs Dynos are more accurate because it uses two barrels vs. just one for the tires to rest on.

just to let you know, that dyno is not altered in any way. I know the guy (viper aka Samir) from the accordv6 forums.

I will be ordering a UR pulley (Polished) anyways from the V6accord group buy, it would cost $275 plus shipping. I estimate a $75 is enough to get it installed by a Honda/Acura Master tech!

then why doesn't it crossover at 5252?

the graphs are fine.

the lines don't cross because the scales are different for hp (90-180 on the left) and torque (70-190 on the right) on this graph.

the hp still equals the torque at 5252 rpm for both runs, as would be expected.

the hp and torque curves are plotted on different scales. they'll only cross (on a graph) at 5252 if they are plotted on the same scale.

However, I do still believe that both curves should cross at the same rpms regardless if it was 5225 rpm or not.

Anyother thought?

What tank is stating is right...the graph is just scaled differently for torque and horsepower.

Huh...I hope it is. I dyno-ed the car w/ 4500 miles on it, and I also feel that extra "boost" when I step on the gas harder in low rpms and in the same gear.
