Someone please tell me where I can buy rotors that won't rust

Im glad I missed out on the groupbuy, but that still doesnt solve my problem of having nasty rusty rotors beneath my nice new wheels -

Slotted/cross drilled/plain - It doesn't matter - I just want new ones that aren't rusted - Suggestions?

They all rust sooner or later... Even the Brembo's, from where the pad contacts the rotor...

The only thing I know to date that you can do is... take off the braking system completely and stick your shoe out the door to slow down or stop.......j/k.... but you know it was funny.

You know you can always get those brake dust covers and look like a tard... ha ha ..lol...

every single rotor ever made for any car in existance will rust. the surface of the rotor is VERY prone to rust when exposed to water. dude, all you have to do when they are rusty is drive around the block a few times and step on the brakes a few times to get the pads to scrape off the rust buildup.

If you're talking about the area that the brake pads hit, then just park your car in the garage.

Now, with the other surfaces (that don't get "de-rusted" by the pads), the only way is to paint the rotors (or powdercoat 'em).

You don't want to get paint on the braking surfaces, so painting the rotors can be trickey. Lots of masking tape to cover the area the pads hit (front and back).

Then the question which needs to be asked is...

Where can one buy rotors which wont rust so damn easily?

Maybe i'm just crazy but rotors should last a good 60k miles and pads around 30-40k.

You are crazy

I have never had brakes last anywhere near that long, but it really depends on how you drive

I am talking about the area that the pads don't hit...Like the center and around the side edges....

I guess lightly sanding those areas - then painting them silver would do the trick...

Your have to paint em. Or get oversize Brembos or any other company that makes a true 2 piece brake. The center part of OEM brakes are connected to the brake, it's metal. Whereas 2 piece wheels the center part is connected to the brake by hubs, greatly enchancing appearance and lowering un-sprung weight.

All brakes rust. Go to a new car dealership after it rains and check all the cars brakes. All rusted. Totally harmless, it wipes off as soon as you drive it.

Is there a reasonably priced 2 piece OEM replacement rotor? I have rust issues on the outside part as well.

Of course there is that Ceramic setup that Porsche is using.
