Some TLS owners have pinging... How about the CLS?
The TLS forum now has about 2-3 people complaining of pinging in their cars. I've never had the problem, even with "regular".
Does anyone with a CLS have pinging with Premium Gas, and if they do, can they tell me the brand, octane, and part of the country?
TIA

No problem with detonation here but I only use 93/94 octane. Not worth playing with it for the few bucks saved. I bet the pinging is coming from some of the oxygenated fuels in SoCal and other places.

My car pings very very slightly, but frequently on any brand of premium gas For some reason, I seem to be the only one to notice it. It was REALLY bad when I was using Costco gas. I've been using Texaco premium (which I think is 92 out here in AZ) for awhile. It pings less than anything else.

You know, I've noticed a performance difference since this damn'd 91 octane switch! Not an audible "ping", but, under WOT, I can feel the car "holding back", sorta like it's struggling to go faster -like a miss! I know that it's the "knock sensor" retarding the timing!
