So, I shut my car off...

...and the fan kept running loudly for about 5 minutes or so...! Should I be worried...? Thanks in advance for any input!

nah, that's normal when you drive it either long or hard in hot weather. It's an electric fan (obviously) and it's just helping the cooling system get back to normal thresholds. I hear mine occasionally.

My '94 accord did this back in the day, it must be just a honda thing!

It will do that. Just watch out if it starts doing it all the time...

If it was really cool out, and you were on the freeway driving easy, and you never heard it before, something could be changing.

The fans will go on when stopped if the coolant temp is hot enough.

OTOH, if you see the car doing it all the time and you are not driving in traffic or hot weather, you might want to have the dealer look at it.

As far as just having the fans turn on after the car is shut down, it happens when it needs to; it's a normal feature.

With anything, if it starts happening too often and it's doing it in cool, easy-running conditions, it couldn't hurt to check in again.

YMMV

German cars I have owned do it as well. VW, Audi, etc... In fact if a car has an aluminium engine without a thermostatically operated cooling fan, it is asking for trouble. Aluminium castings don't cool down well in a confined space, which then can easily lead to thermal stress cracks over time.

my fan only kicks in when the car is running and even after a long drive or when its hot, the fan does not continue to run after I shut off the car. I've worked on my car even right after a drive while still hot and fan doesn't turn on.
