So I put the camber kit on, got a question

I bought the eibach rear camber kit a long ass time ago, and just had it put on yesterday. I'm not the best at explaining shit, so bear with me.

I thought that camber kits normally push out the top bar on the rim to correct camber.

The camber kit that I received apparently pulls the bottom bar inwards as opposed to pushing out the top bar.

The instructions called for 4 bars (2 on top, 2 on bottom). But I only received 2 corrective bars for the bottom.

Does this sound right? Can someone confirm that this is what they did to correct camber on their CL-S?

Thee camber is a bit better, and the guy fixed it so that I wouldn't get scraping on those Zeal B6s anymore. So that's a good thing.

Here is a picture of my rear camber kit. It is the Ingalls kit. It replaced two lower bars, one to adjust camber and one to adjust toe. It will pull the lower part of the wheel in if you have negative camber. It will push it out if you have postive camber.
Negative camber ===> / \

Positive camber ====> \ /

This is if you are looking at your car from the rear. It is doing what it is supposed to do. Your tires should look like this from the rear now
Zero camber =====> | |

Here is the pic:

Yep, that helps. Thanks a lot aztec.

Got a pic of the kit before you installed it? I think I may have been shorted on the bar that corrects the camber. I'm sure I got the bar that pulls in the lower half of the wheel.

I think I'm missing a set of bars.

My SP camber kits, the rear ones are essentially the same as yours - replaces the lower control arms.

OK, I called up ACP and he was telling me to take a look at Ingall's site because this was the same thing as what I had ordered. So I did. When I got to the Ingall's site, he told me to look at part no 3872. as seen here http://www.ingallseng.com/parts/3872.htm

Now... When looking at this kit, it says 1 kit per wheel...One kit per wheel?!

I thought I would only have to purchase 1 kit to fix the camber on both of the rear wheels. I figured was a typo, so I called up Todd @ Ingall's to verify.

He said that each kit was for 1 wheel. In order to fix the camber for both of the rear wheels, I would need to buy 2 camber kits.

And that would explain why my installation guy thought I was missing a set of bars/links. If I'm not mistaken, I'm going to have to buy another camber kit for the other set of lower links.

This sucks ass...

That is the kit I got, and it came with 4 control arms TOTAL!!! So when you order, you need to order two. I got mine from Tim at ACP. As you can see from the pic, two for each side. The one closest to you is the toe control. The one closer to the front of the car is for camber adjustment. You should make sure of what you got!!! If you ordered one kit, then both bars should go on the SAME SIDE!! It looks as if one of the pieces is longer than the other. When you get your next set, make sure that all the pieces are the same length!!!!!!!

How much did you pay for yours? I saw in this thread http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=65785 you said you paid $230. Was that for 1 side or both?

I paid 189 bucks for 1 side! I can't imagine I would have to pay damn near $400 bucks to repair the camber in the rear. That's just insane.

Thanks for all your help, Aztec. This is making a hell of lot more sense to me now.

Ok now I'm really confused. I bought the Eibach rear camber kit from ACP a while back. I purchased 2 Eibach "Rear Complete Axle Kit." Now that I look, I only have 1 arm in each box. So I'm assuming this is only for camber OR toe?

On my car the toe is fine but the camber is out of spec. Can't I just replace the arm that controls the camber?

Take a look at this Mista...
http://www.ingallseng.com/parts/3872.htm

You would think you could replace only the arm that controls the camber. But I'm not a mechanic, so I can't really say.

On the Ingalls site, it says explicitly that there is one kit per wheel which replaces both lower links. If you're replacing 2 lower links, then you should have 2 arms in each box. If you bought 2 kits, then altogether you should have replaced 4 lower links(2 on each wheel), making a total of 4 arms.

I had no idea I needed to buy 2 kits. I'm going to call up ACP and ask them to put a small note in there. Maybe I should have done a bit more homework, but on the ACP site, it says complete rear axle kit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sounds like I only needed one.

My installation guy who has worked on suspensions forever says that he has never seen a camber kit that pulls the bottom of the wheel inwards. When you do this, you are narrowing the rear track of the car which is a BAD thing. He's going to call up Ingalls to ask them what is their logic behind doing it this way. If he isn't convinced after talking to them, then I will send back my camber kit, and he will manufacture a custom camber kit for the rear which replaces the upper links as opposed to the lower links.
