So i backed into a pole

I was in a beach access parking lot last night and backed in a metal pole!!! I could not be more mad at myself. I am looking at a new rear tail light assembly and bumper cover. Do you guys think i should just eat the cost and try to find these parts and pay someone to put them on or just turn it into my insurance. And please spare me i know i am freaking idiot!

one of my friends had the same accident as you did, i recommend going to the junkshop for parts and the last option would be buying new aftermarket ones

well, get estimates first, then see where to go from there...insurance or paying the cost out of your pocket...

Ugh... that sucks, but I guess it could be worst...

Get estimates and then figure out what your deductible is... Figure that if you put in a claim, your rates will go up too for a few years, so it might be cheaper to just pay for it out of pocket...

Try Ebay for a replacement taillight. They can be much cheaper than any other source I've found. Check seller's creds carefully..... you may luck out... (got my left taillight for $15.00!)
Make sure you enter "Ebay sellers" also on taillight/bumper cover searches.

davepole033...that sucks. Luckily, I'm selling some rear tail lamps off my 01 CL Type S: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/sold-fs-2001-cls-tail-lamps-%2A%2A%2Anew-price-%24125-both-tail-lamps-%2A%2A%2A-369556/
PM me if you're interested in 1 or both.

I'd at least have my insurance look at it. If the cost is a lot more than your deductible (at least $500) I'd have them cover it, and hope your premiums don't go up too much. Otherwise, blackmarket/eBay's your friend. Good luck, bro.

lol, happened to me with my previous CL, the pole was dead center and i was using my sideviews to back out. Sometimes I think to myself, I am such a retard. But I look at it this way, these smaller things keep you on your toes so no Huge catastrophic things can happen.

Reminds me of that car insurance ad where that musician is getting his van checked out because he says his van was attacked by adoring fans. Then he goes on to admit that he just backed into a pole.

None of the pics show up for me

In any case, sorry that this happened, I know whenever I've done anything to my car, even just tiny scratches I get pissed at myself so I can only imagine how you feel.
