Smitty's 6-speeder is Supercharged!!!
Smitty's 6-speeder is Supercharged!!!
Ahhhhh.... where to start..... First of all I want to give a large Thank you to Eric (TypseS1967), Brad (ModAddict), Steve (Scalbert), Dean Batey, Nick @ Comptech and my Best Freind Jr., without the help of you guys it would of taken me 15 hours for the install...LOL...
Now on to the goodies and pics.... I must say if you got a 6 speed and you do not have a blower yet.... GET ONE!!!!...
Initial review:..... The instructions were shady in some areas... No big deal. The Charger is a beast, I could not believe how the car pulls.... The POWER is there... and you have the ability to UNLEASH it at any time... An absolutely beautiful KIT...
... Putting the pieces of the puzzle to together was actually very relaxing... Jacked the car up pretty high so I did not break my back bending over all day... The FPR was a hoe, had to take off the wipers and everything to mount that bitch... but no biggie.... Like I said the directions sucked on that part... Some of the hoses I got were TOO SHORT.., thank goodness NAPA auto parts is 2 blocks away...LOL...
I had 3 problems.... (1)... the Alternator pulley...not fun, but had to turn it so I could get an impact gun on it... NOt alot of room at all in that area to work... (2).. The C/T full pump was broken when I got it out of the bag... The center pin were the suction filter gets stabilized came rolling out of the bag...<-- NOT GOOD... SO I had to get a new pump overnighted...No biggie..(3)..The fuel line for the FPR had threads on 1 end link, but not the other....Ohh when I finally figured out why the damn thing would not screw on to the FPR I was so fooking
, I almost whipped it across the garage... had to get that part OVERNIGHTED too, since it was a speciality part...
Other than that, the directions/schematic for the ESM were very disappointing... It took me what seemed like 30 minutes to figure out the MAP Sensor Grn/Red wire....OH I was nervous..
I am so happy I did my research well in advance... without talking to the fellas that are already S/C'ed I would of pulled my hair out on a few procedures....
Had 1 very large problem at the time, but fixed it the next day.. You will see on one pic that I had to UPGRADE the Radiator and Thermostat housing clamps... The stock clamps that you pinch with pliars to remove and put on are GARBAGE.... I got some heavy duty clamps and it fixed my coolant leak... but I was very
that it sprayed coolant all over my engine bay.. that thing was spotless.. but no biggie... I cleaned it up..
My knees and back were soar after day 1 (8 hours), and my hands are pretty well scrapped up after day 2, because every screw, bolt or hose I tried to tighten did not want to cooperate..(I was having 1 of those days, nothing wanted to cooperate)...
But all in all, I am very pleased... Now I am going to go see the exhaust guy tomorrow and see what he says about the exhaust cut-out.... MORE POWER PLEASE!!!!...
P.S. Had to take the whip out for a test run against my buddies stock WS6 (the night I blew coolant all over and the vacuum line from the FPR blew off) .... all I can say to that is....OH MY!!!.... he said he missed 3rd.....LOL... riiiiight....I chewed him up from start to finish!!!! TWICE!!! then I noticed coolant and had to shut down...
ENJOY... I know I will
Smitty
The BEAST:
They were doing Construction by my work garage and all the guys had to stop in and BS since they seen this sitting on the tailgate of the truck...LOL
The last time I will get to see these...LOL.. The blower will hide them
Got to cut and reinstall the plastic.. No biggie.. but she runs very good!
This line was too short.. had to upgrade...
A/C line was a hoe, but I wrapped it in plastic so I did not wear a hole in it since it sits so close to the blower.
Upgraded the clamp.. thats were my leak was coming from.. When I smashed the gas that sucker sprayed like a garden hose! I will dremel the other clamp off some day.. If I can get my hands down there.. I did not want coolant everywhere so it stays there for now.
Upgraded the GROUND... Oh man, look at the stock one.. What a POS....LOL
I have to admit I was scared the damn MAP sensor would not clear the hood when it was shut... but it did... That is a VERY important part.. I did not want no trouble...
THE END..

Someone in Chicago needs to get a blower on their 6speeder. I'd love to see and feel the difference!
Congrats man. I knew it was only a matter of time!!!

pre S/C, I could only pull on him and win when we both downshifted from a roll..
w/ S/C... I could not even tell you how many car lengths, I was just so happy I pulled on him all the way... I am thinking it was 2-3 cars. but I dunno... he won't race me again...LOL... I am dead serious, he is seriously scared or something... If I beat him real bad, he will end up wrenching on his car and modding it heavily and he wants to keep this pontiac stock... His 88 GTA, will hand me my ass on a platter.. but I want to take a stab at it someday.

u guys all now that the s/c is just the beginning rite?
what i mean is that the the s/c is so new that it hasn't even been finely tuned yet...people on the accord board have been able to extract 8-15more hp than when they initially had the s/c due to dyno tuning the car....u should go dyno ur car and get some free hp

I dunno.. you think you can drive it without burning up my clutch or missing gears?? hehe
Damn looks like you just spent 4000 dollars and your car will be slow. You shouldn't try to make a slow car fast. Just buy a fast car!!!! Get nos too, then maybe you can hang w/some real sports cars. I personally don't own one of those sportscars I speak of cuz I'm just a shit talker with a Geo Metro.
HI TROLL MY NAME IS ECLIPSE23 I MODERATE THIS BOARD, KEEP POSTING AND I KEEP EDITING YOU. DONT TROLL HERE YOU WON'T WIN.

Drive Smitty's car? yeah right!!! I'll just settle on riding shotgun!....Smitt's..thanks for putting my intake on!!! It sounds sooooo bad!!! I purposely drive through the tunnels flooring it, just to hear it reverberate!!...kinda cheesy...I know. See ya Friday!
Nice! Glad to see everything worked out. Wait till you get your hands on the high boost pulley.
With higher 93 octane available, it will run great. Scalbert will have his back on soon, and should see simular results.
FYI, that MAP sensor can be mounted facing the other way.

Oh man, at first I thought the thread was going to turn into a flame war with that troll... LOL
Thanks fellas for the comments, the car feels great..
Brad, I did not think of that.. Damn it... LOL... oh well..I will switch it around.. besides. I got 94 Octane up here in Pittsburgh..f the 93
I went to see the exhaust guy today.... Things look great.. he is going to us T403 <--- easier to weld than T304... but he is going to do the dump pipe and exhaust cut out as soon as I get it in... NOW ALL I HAVE TO DO IS GET TOGETHER WITH YOU, SCALBERT AND ERIC, and find out how to trick the O2 sensor.... then I am all set and ready for the dyno...
In few weeks, sit tight fellas...

Smitty
Kind of expensive for an o2 simm, but really cheap for a wideband o2 meter,.... http://techedge.com.au/
