Size fitment?

Hi all,

After this few months of struggling to decide which rims will well fit into my car.

I finally decide to go with Enkei RPM2.

Guys, I need to know which size will fit to our car.

18 x 7.5 w/ 42 offset or 18 x 8 w/ 45 offset

thanks,

YOU WILL NEED AN OFFSET HIGHER THEN 42 SO I SAY THE 45 IS A GOOD CHOICE.

+45 (I think perfect would be +49) but +45 will work fine..

did you get these wheels? and if so, did they work out?

I am also looking at Enkei wheels. This one and the MM2. However I was told that the largest offset that these come in for our lug pattern was a 42. But I think that was for the 7.5 inch width wheel.

I'll check into the 8inch wheel.

If I was misinformed, would you please tell me where you got your wheels? I'd like to get these by the end of the month.

By the way, I'm dropping my car with Comptech springs, would 42 or 45 work out?

Thanks!
Larry

I've looked extensively into these wheels and others.
The RPM2 comes in 17 x 7 or 17 x 8, not sure in the 18's.
You will want a 45mm offset with the wider 8 inch width in the 18 x 8 so that it doesn't protrude any further than the stock rim. the higher the offset, the further in the profile.
A good wheel and light at 17 lbs in 17 inch, but not forged, which means it will bend easier.
Check out the Enkei ZR2 at 14lbs in 17 inch or the RPM1 at 11 lbs. in 17 inch, part of a new line of wheels from Enkei.
I'm personally going to buy Volks, forged and very lightweight but very pricey. I don't want anything cheap on my CL.
I've got new SP9000 Z rated dunlops going on my stock rims tommorrow, rims next.

From my experience with Dunlops, they do not like to be on a narrow rim. See what happens, but you may have balance problems if your going 235/225 on stock rims.

I'm going with the same size as stock, 215/50/17.
Overall diameter is identical and so is the width.

From experience, 18X7.5 with +42 & H&R Sports will work (check my sig) - and no rubbing. Not sure about the 8" with +45 though.

cool....

Then it's settled, I'm going to get the Enkei RPM2 sized at 18x7.5 w/a 42mm offset and lower my car with Comptech springs.

Thanks for the input!

If anyone has this combination or CLOSE (meaning Comptect springs), please chime in.

Take care,
Larry

(anyone know where I can get some Comptech springs....QUICK and for a good price?)

I had 18X7.5's with 42 offset, & I rubbed with Comptech springs. I had 235-40-18's though.

fuzzy02CLS,
So....when you say "had", do you mean you got rid of them? If so, was it due to the rubbing? And how much did they rub?

By the way, I'm going RPM2 18x7.5, 42mm offset, Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 225 40 ZR18's so I hope I don't rub.

THANKS!
