Six Flags Trip : Fun & Mileage
Six Flags Trip : Fun & Mileage
Last Saturday, wife and me, went to the Six Flags, New England. I toped my gas tank just before we left.
V1 plugged, the trip was fun.. at 90-95 most the way to Six flags
One surprise, I saw a black MDX zipping around cars.. mann this thing is fast it was pulling hard from 90! maybe he was flooring it all the time!
Six Flags, was fun but too much crowded, I will never be there on weekends or holidays
Superman ride of steel was really scary and fun.
Scream (208 ft tower, rocketing up, and free fall drop) was very nice too.
By the end of the day, I was so much tired that I did not speed to much 70-75 max.
Next day, I topped the gas tank again... Another nice surprise
...Gas: 8.6 Gals Counter A: 240 miles => MPG = 27.9 !!!

How does the Superman on the East Coast go? We have one here at Six Flag Magic Mountain and it's just a cosater that speeds forward and comes back in reverse.
Mileage... on the way back from LA, I got a first reading of 185 miles @ 7.45 gallons. Then I fueled up again and took another reading, this time I topped off at 7.55 gallons @ 205 miles. Both time I was going 80-85 and I floored it a few times.. It's getting hard to guage the mielage... :-D

Six Flags Great America has a new variation on the Superman kind of ride.
Its called Vertical Velocity. Very cool. The one coaster that I would always wait for the first car queue.
It is a straight track that is bent in the shape of a big U, and you ride 2x2 with your feet dangling. It mag launches you 0-60 in a couple of seconds up one end of the u, where you hang for a second facing straight up. Then backwards through the station up the other end of the U, where you hang facing down. Does this for 5 trips to the ends of the track.
Very good ride.
