We've got some exciting news, Internet Brands has confirmed that we will be moving to the VBB 3.7 platform in the next week.

We are expecting to do the upgrade on Tuesday, meaning we'll be down for the entire day.

Please note that the timing is subject to change, but it's definitely going to happen in the short term.

Or is it cleanup/maintenance type stuff?

 

The forums been a bit sluggish lately, so hopefully this will speed things up... There will also be some changes to allow us to move off topic posts from here to the off topic forums (cartalk, etc)...

IB will be implemementing their search engine which will allow for searches on 3 character strings...

And with the upgrades to the forum software, adding new forums will be easier... a NSX and MDX forum are coming soon after the upgrade...

 

We're going to be down the 24 hours starting at 2pm Eastern, 11am Pacific TOMORROW!!!! to perform a major VB upgrade.

I have to admit, this is a bit weird... Got used to it being a certain way for 3 years LOL

 

this is weird. On my comp instead of page 1 being new topics it is old topics. I have to go to page 6 just to view new threads! WTF? Its not like this in the TL section.

 

Have a bunch of threads dissapeared in our CL forum or did I not get much sleep last night?

I agree, the look and feel is more modern; however, search isn't working properly, or threads haven't been ported over.

well, when I search for my previous threads ( as I did earlier, to find something of interest ), I receive no results. Maybe it's just a template issue, ie, the page showing no results because of a malformed tag, I'm not sure. but hopefully that helps.

 

search does not work, and won't until tomorrow while the index is rebuilt.
