My idiot light for Side Airbag Off is blinking intermittently. Does anyone have any suggestions other than take it to the dealer? The car is a '03 CLS 6MT woth 11k on it.

You don't have anything on the seat do you?

 

does it happen when someone is sitting in the seat? cause that is normal.

 

does it happen when the chick is leaning over blowing you ?

If so thats normal

 

 

Man - I can't ever remember seeing that thing blink before.....I did have my laptop on the passenger side seat(not my girlfriend a computer)???


BTW - When my chick is leaning over blowing me, not even the airbag will save her head from exploding.

 

Sometimes anything in the front seat will make that thing blink.

 

Yup... so that's probably it. The senor is very sensative... so if the bag is laying on the seat weird it could set the light off. So nothing to worry about

 

This has been discussed on the TL forum...The problem is when there is electonics on the passenger seat (ie cellie, laptop etc) it affects the sensors.....get it checked by the dealer...lifetime warranty on ANY seatbelts or restraints parts...since its a safety issue.

 

Sounds like you need a penis airbag!
