should I get extended warranty?

did anyone get this? I think its around $1,000 to extend the warranty to 7 years/ 100,000 miles.

is it worth it? I am worried about my tranny... warranty may be worth it if my tranny ever dies like I keep hearing about.

The cars with suspect tranny's have a 100,000 warranty on them. I don't think extended warrany is worth it. YMMV

what do you mean the cars with suspect trannys? I thought it was all the 01 cl's?

I just got mine certified pre owned from a dealer, they never said anything about it. does that mean I shouldn't worry about the tranny breaking on me?

'01 through some '03 transmissions are covered for 7/100. Many of the items that would normally be covered under the original 4/50 warranty are considered wear items under the extended warranty, and are not covered. Ask the dealer for a copy of the coverage section before you sign anything, so you can see exactly what is covered. My dealer told me it was just an extension/continuation of the original warranty. It wasn't quite that easy.

I paid $1,230 for mine in August, '02, with ~48k on my car. I cancelled it this spring, and received $615 as a refund.

I might be able to find my coverage section and e-mail a scanned copy to you, if you want to look at it.

No. I got my extended before they extended the tranny. Most likely, if anything else needs fixing down the line, the $1,000 will cover it. So save the money and most likely, you will not need to fix anything....
