short shift adapter

short shift adapter
I already posted this in ramblings, but thought I'd start a new thread in car talk. Ok it is a short shift adapter made by neuspeed. You can see a picture at their website. It doesn't replace the rod, but claims 35% reduced throw. What do you guys think. It is only 50 bucks. Will this shorten the knob at all?

Fits 2002-up 3.2CL Type-S with 6 speed manual transmission.
Every NEUSPEED Short Shift kit is precision-made for each application. For the Acura CL Type S cable shift mechanism, our kit utilizes a CNC machined billet aluminum adapter. Replacement of the entire shift lever is not necessary. This kit reduces throw by approximately 35%.
Notes
Installation is performed entirely from the center console using simple hand tools and a drill.
**Special introduction price of $49.95 for Internet customers only. Supplies are limited.**

I have the B&M adaptor for my 2.3 CL and it did help reduce the throws and made them notchier, which is good. Along with a smaller shift knob it improved my shifting speed and fun a lot. The install was real easy too.

Where is my super sauce?
This PLUS a lower set knob (mine's been ordered) might be a cool mod.
I'll see how I like my knob. If I'm still interested in a shorter throw it's hard to see how one can go wrong for $50.
It looks like just a bracket for the link between the cable and the shift stick. It must just change the length or angle of the cable's attachment and thereby change the throw. Simple enough.

Looks interesting, but I’ll wait on a couple of test reports from you guys before I rip my console apart again.
I’m so used to this setup after a year of driving that I don’t really want to screw with it.
My only complaint about the stock shifter was that it was too small for my hand and slightly high for comfort/appearance.
My throws got slightly shorter when I installed my MOMO knob and it addressed the other problems.
I don’t really have any complaints right now because the knob is about an inch lower and has much more MASS to it.

Rob you sure its on back order. I ordered mine last night, and just called them to check. They said it isn't on backorder. Said it hasn't officially been released yet. He also said I will basically be the first to get it. Did you call them? How you know its on backorder. Said he will be shipping mine out tommorrow.

Titan which one did you get. Titanium or aluminum? Did you get it engraved. I like it engraved with the shift pattern. Good price also. Please post pics of the knob once you get it installed.

He's an example of the difference between stock and short throw.
See how the distance is reduced by 30%

The length of the shifter. The length of the cables. Some short throws just decrease the total length of the shifter arm. some use spacers to decrease the length of the short throw. The one for the acura seems to be an adapter or spacer of some type.
