Well you can tell from my sig what i'm gonna say, Koni yellows. I think they perfectly compliment the Comptech springs. Huge improvement in my handling.

excuse my ignorance

What is so great about Koni Yellows? I hear they are adjustable. Okay, that is good I'm sure. I'm getting HR springs soon and want to just stay with stock shocks. But then again maybe I can be convinced of the Konis worth by someone. I'm sure the ride will be even stiffer with the new springs. Think that spells any trouble with the stock shocks? Thanx for feedback.

Once you see the size difference between stock and the Koni's, you will start to understand!!!! The Koni's are almost twice the size in diameter!!!! They not only are adjustable, but they can handle the extra force exerted by the lowering of the car. The stocks will be able to take it for a while, but if left on, they will blow out!!!! The stock shock are made for comfort, so they are very soft!!! The Koni's are made for handling, so they are stiffer and can be adjusted even more!!!! WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!! I would personally NEVER lower a car without changing the shocks as well!!!

I too have the Koni yellows, and they are nice

As for life expectancy, I would expect the stocks (which is true in my case) to go out anywhere from 45k to 50k. Mind you they won't blow, but they will degrade significantly in performance to basically the point that they might as well have blown.

Koni's once installed should last the lifetime of the vehicle, one interesting point to note is that the Koni's where made adjustable (this was from reading off the Koni literature that came with the shocks) so that you can initially set it at the softest setting, and gradually over time you can readjust and tighten the settings to keep the same ride quality for ever ).

I think for the set (all 4) Tim (acp.com) had them for like +/- 500$, best price I have seen.

handling is great, but what if your looking for ride smoothness and comfort? I already blew out one stock strut, maybe because of the mechanic's fault, but I still am looking for that stock ride quality with comptech spring look. (maybe even softer than stock)

install for spring & shocks

Koni Yellows sound like a sound investment, especially with the springs. I mean, you will have to replace the shocks sometime anyway, so might as well get the ones with a lifetime warranty.

Quick Q: Should the price to install just springs EQUAL the price to install the springs & koni shocks?

I know they are pretty much part of the same assembly, but before I call the install shop and they try to dick me around, I might as well make sure via shared wisdom. Thanx!

The cost for installation should be EXACTLY the same. When they change the shocks or the springs, BOTH have to come out!!!! It is cheaper to do boht at the same time!!!!
