Shifter physically won't downshift

So I have a 2001 CL-S Auto.

Noticed last night, while in SS mode, it's extremely hard to downshift and a bit too easy to upshift- physically with the shifter, I mean. And it's impossible to shift lower than D4 while not in SS mode. If I leave it in auto mode, car drives fine, so the transmission itself looks to be working fine. The shifter just seems fubar'd for anything besides park, reverse, neutal and drive.

Anyone else come across this problem? If so, think it'll fall under the 100K tranny warranty for warrantied repairs?

Sounds like something is stuck in the center console. The sportshift is electronic, so you're not physically shifting gears like a manual.

Take the center console apart and look to see what's in there. Maybe something broke loose and is stuck?
