Painting the black plastic under the stick is easy but getting it out is a lot of work. You have to remove the whole center console. Getting this plastic paint was not my original plan but while I was removing my CD/radio to do the red LEDs project I figure get it painted in medium charcoal and see what does it looks like. It turns great! No more that cheesey looking plastic!

The shift gate looks nice

I think the paint will be scratched due to the contact when you shift. I may be wrong so keep us posted.

It would not scratch because there is an offset in the plastic to prevent rubbing.

Doing the dash board is very hard and time consuming and expensive ($500-600)and yes I need the dashboard so that I can modify the plastic housing. Is the CL and TL dashboard very similar? Mine is TL. Rightnow I can't do the dashboard because I don't have parts yet. But if you have the same type of Cd/radio like the TL I can do that for you for $200(red LED) and $250 (blue LED) if you can send me the CD/radio unit. This is a one week turn around. Please contact me at Hamony.chhon@qntm.com

Ummm ... the stock 2002 TL is 3.2 . You dont have a 3.5 unless you upgraded it or paid the dealer to upgrade. Please clarify.
