I have an AEM CAI I want installed but don't want to deal with the warranty BS of not getting it done at an Acura dealership. Anyone have experience with aftermarket installs from either Acura of Bellevue or Acura of Lynnwood?

I know for sure Acura of Bellevue sells the AIM CAI and at a competive price if I recall. They will also install it and therefore cover any warranty issues. Sorry I don't recall the price.

thanks for the response. I actually already bought the CAI. I got it from Mach 3 (www.machiii.net) for $204 with free bypass and free shipping. Pretty sweet deal considering I was going to get the bypass given our crappy weather! I'm just wondering what experiences people have had with those 2 dealerships.

Stay away from BOTH dealerships ifyou are purchasing equipment. They aren't the best service dealerships in town! True they are comptech authorized dealerships..but their installation services aren't the best in town.

You are better off ordering stuff from the 'net or local shop...then installing from local shop...cause I know for a fact those guys make up bullshit if something happens to your ride with aftermarket parts installed...

good luck!

Thanks DDT for the advice. After debating about it, I couldn't justify going to Acura of Bellevue. They wanted $263 for the install . I contacted Car Nutz right down the road from the dealership, and they quoted me $80. I haven't used them before, but they sound pretty reputable. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Don't bother with the bypass. Mine has been on the car for about 2 years now and I've driven in every hard rain we've had...no problems. In fact, I think the stupid rubber flanges on the thing are starting to fail - which will mean the car will be sucking virtually unfiltered air through the cheap foam. Without getting into a long debate over the bypass, just don't completely submerge the pipe and you'll be just fine.

BTW, I had Acura of Lynnwood install my headers. They did a good job but screwed me later on a paint job they messed up so there isn't any loyalty with them. Acura of Bellevue pissed me off when my actuator went bad by repeatedly telling me there was nothing wrong with it...only to have it fixed by Acura @ Southcenter the very next week. I've been going there ever since.

And what about Comptech Sway/Anti-Roll bars? Anyone have a recommendation for that install?

ACURA OF SOUTHCENTER IS THE BEST PLACE TO FIX YOUR ACURA...the only other place is ACURA OF FIFE...but I think they are really legit too! Acura of bellevue sucks cause they overcharge and they aren't on my list to bring your ride too..car nutz is legit

I can do the comptech sways for free if anyone wants...trust me, I'm an expert now..after doing freakin' 8 installs!!

I agree that I trust Acura of Southcenter the most. In fact, I used to be a lot bitch there when I was still a kid. I've never had a bad experience with them. But I didn't even ask if they install a CAI because they don't sell them. I bought my car in Fife. I've had good experience with them so far, but they don't do aftermarket either.

Be careful I may have to take you up on that. All the dealerships are too damn expensive, of course. I haven't had any significant problems with Acura of Seattle/Southcenter either -just little tiny stuff.

I'm always willing to help a fellow CL member anytime Let me know if you really want to do this...it won't take too long..average for me is about < 2 hours for both front and rear...that is if I have all my gear with me..depends on you though. What city you around? If you can manage to boot over to newcastle (area), then I can do it for you at my relatives house...I have my hydraulic lift and tools there.

Excellent. Life would be so much easier with a lift, or even a garage for that matter.

I am about 15 miles south of you. Now I just need to order the sways. I have been putting it off.

shit dude, once everyone heres the word free, they automatically want a piece of it it's coo though..if you end up getting some, holler at me. AS for the meeting, I really don't care...I'd rather do the sways and then meet later on. There's a freakin' homeowners bullshit ordinance on working on cars in the driveway..so I have to limit the session to one car at a time. Again, holler back if you need help.

later ya'll
