Seat covers for CL-S seats?

I have black leather interior on my '01 CL-S.

Although not too bad @ all, the leather is starting to get slight cracks and various other aging lines and such on the seats. There's naturally more on the driver's seat than the rest of the car.

I can't help but think of what the seats are going to look like in another 4-5 years... which is how long I will be keeping the car for sure...

Any tips or product suggestions for ensuring quality leather for the rest of my CL days?

I will be getting tint within the end of July, so I know that will help a bit...

And does anyone have any sort of seat covers on their seats? I know it's sad to do that to such beautiful seats, but I'm not willing to drop a gang load of cash if the seats start to look like poo.

thanks ya'll.

Lexol conditioner and tint should help quite a bit. I'd do the lexol at least once a month if not more. Aren't the seats covered under warranty? They say leather is not "supposed" to do that...

I suppose it's not supposed to, but I don't think it's bad enough where they would swithc out the whole seat under warranty.

I will however, indeed try getting them to switch out under warranty.

keep or start putting leather conditioner on them, to keep them from cracking any further

i know the 04 TL's had issues with the leather and the acura replaces the seats under warranty for them. try to use it to your advantage if you can

I guess no one uses seat covers then?

And what kind of leather conditioner do you all like best? I have a bottle of the spray on turtle wax leather conditioner layin' around. I haven't used it before though...

And I guess my game plan.. try to get the seats replaced under warranty and start using conditioner like a mofo.

I have used lexol since the car was new and got the windows tinted a couple months after getting the car. So far no cracks or signs of wear at all in my car.
Although the only time my car sits outside is the few days of week I drive it to work other than that it sits in the garage when im not driving it, so im sure that helps

PS: Dont forget to condition your steering wheel, if you don't it will start to peel just like dead skin It happened to my uncle in his car. Steering wheels get the most direct sunlight and your constantly touching it.

Do you guys think cracking and old leather is more noticable in the cars with black leather then the ebony leather?

Acura replaced my seat leather under warranty at 49K. They did both so they would "match".

Davis Acura kicks ass!

use lexol on my car seats/steering wheel, my leather sofa and chairs at home. been using it for like 15 years. won't use anything else.

just be careful not to plug up the perforations and seams in the seats, its a PITA to get out -- spray it on a rag first. also greasy on plastic/vinyl.

I treated a couple superficial cracks in my seats with a tiny bit of black shoe polish to make them disappear. just make sure all the excess is off or else you'll skid mark your pants...

That rocks, I hope my dealer would be nice enough to do that. I have a couple small cracks already on my driver's seat.
