B-pipe w/ Stock Axlebacks

I was going to get the comptech headers this summer and I wanted to do the b-pipe section, but i don't like any of the exhausts currently out, so i was going to stick with a set of 03 axlebacks. I figure with my intake, headers, and b-pipe, it will sound the best with stock exhaust or at least I'm hoping. Has anyone done this or know if it will fit? I figure it should but might as well double check.

I have this setup and it sounds nice. The fitting is fine. No problem.

I suppose, that since the B-pipe splits for the two mufflers, that the stock mufflers don't impede the exhaust flow? Hmmm... this would be great for anyone with a s/c'er . I want cat backs, but will not pay $1200 for them. Just getting the B-pipe is the way to go for me.

If not wrong. Jonesi has the same setup.... Not sure if he has a sound clip, but I remember reading that with the b-pipe and comptech axlebacks is was a tad to loud for his taste... He sold the axlebacks and kept the b-pipe, and headers.

not that much louder during regular driving speeds but during WOT you get a little more growl. Its a good inbetween if you wanted a little deeper exhaust note but don't want too much.

Yeah, I think I'll get the B-pipe and not the mufflers.

I am running this setup as well... sounds pretty throaty at idle yet maintains the stock sleeper look

i know the type-s is a free flowing exhaust stock, but what disadvantage will/would there be over a full cat back? i would assume any loss of power would be minimal- like 1 hp-especially if mrsteve is doing it.

cause i am about to do either that or get the comptech cat backs and put the stock tips on it.

it doesnt look right with the rounded ones IMO. I like the sort of oval look i have stock

^^ exactly why i dont like any of the exhausts, the tips dont look right. i guess you could go with buying catbacks/axlebacks and then welding the tips on... seems like a waste of money unless you want the noise the exhaust brings or the 1-3 hp :P

I know the type has has a free flow exhaust but what about the CL-P?? would i see any performance gains by adding just the b pipe? Fyi already have the headers and intake installed.

You pretty much nailed it.. But I think when the car is idle and at lower rpms it has a nice deep tone too..

I did have the axlebacks also, but having my car as the daily driver it was just a little to loud at times (work etc.) It was a nice compromise..

I still contemplate getting them again with the silencers and just taking the silencers out when it's time to mess around a little..
