Seafoam + Synthetic Oil= Win

So I decided to do a little cleaning of the engine today. Put Seafoam into the vac line, gas tank, and oil. Then went to full synthetic Mobil 1 oil. Car feels better than when I bought it. I'm very happy with the results.

I did the same thing two weeks ago. Definately a difference for me with 106,500 miles on the car. I don't use anything other then Mobil 1 Synthetic oil and 93 octane gas...that seems to make a difference also

well with me I put the full bottle just through the vac line...thought you were supposed to use the whole thing , but apparently only half. When you guys do this be sure to take your time and go VERY slow. I did it way to fast at first when I thought I was still going slow and the engine spit the shit right back at me

Also if you go to fast you will shut the engine off...seafoam actually recommends doing this once, but it is up to you.

I was so happy with it that I did it to my G/F 98 Jeep Cherokee w/ 150,000 miles...I coulda down a smoke screen for 5min. no joke. Some people were having a party and a bunch of people wre out on the driveway...they got smoked

If you don't already know what to do search it in the tl forum. Basically you just:

-Warm car up for a good 5min
-Get seafoam and put half of it into a plastic cup.
-Get a 12in hose that will fit the vac line
-Slowly suck the seafoam out of the cup by hovering the hose over the liquid
-This should take 5-10min
-let car sit for 15-20min and then take it for a good spirited drive. Everyone will think your car is about to blow

Put the excess seafoam in your gastank...I wuld recommend waiting to do this until you are near empty so the gas in your tank doesn't just dillute the seafoam

do you put the sea foam in and then fill it up, or let it run for a little while on a near empty tank?

when you do the gas tank you put it in and let it sit for 10-15min. Then take it for a cruise while the tank is low. Let it cool down and then cuise to the gas station for new gas.

OI wouldn't recommend just doing the gas tank though...it really doesn't do much. I don't even think it would smoke. If your gonna seafoam atleast do the vac line method too

Any auto store really. Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.

And as for the process, I did 1 can through the vac line, 1 can in the gas tank with about 1/4 tank of gas. And measured it out for the oil, I think it was 6.9 ounces. Let it sit about 20 mins, went on a spirited drive. Came back, then changed the oil.

Did you add the oil before the oil change or did you change the oil twice. Sorry, might be a dumb question, but I want to do this right. Anything really to take care of my car, and get a little extra life out.

I changed the oil after. It's really not that difficult to do. I just used these from the TL side:

i'm wondering that as well. I want to do seafoam but currently running 63k miles on it. I'm almost sure that's still considered low mileage.
