Question SC vs. Extended Warranty

No this is not a "will the SC void my warranty" question...

Ok, when I purchased my car I bought the extended warranty to go along with it... about $1k. With previous experience, I have seen an extended warranty pay for itself in the long run (my other car had the entire engine replaced under extended warranty ).

Now, most of you know my next step is the S/C... Thing is, should I sacrifice the cash I shelled out for the warranty to bolt-on the S/C?

I figured the ext. warranty will still cover other non-S/C related parts during its time period. But in the long run, what about any engine malfuctions?

Worth it? Yes or No

btw... my car has 15K miles.

I say go for it... I have about 17k on my car but haven't purchased the extended warranty nor am I planning on it. The fact that you have 6 speed and all the other mods, enjoy it while you can... one thing tho, wouldn't S/C void your current warranty? 4 years/50,000 miles????

NiteQwill I was in the same boat as ya.. Spoke to my dealer who is doing the install and he said it won't be voiding my extended warranty, unless its been abuse, or not maintaining schedule maintenance... Regarding Tranny I had a long discussion if it blew would I have it covered, the answer was yes... Best of luck with your dealer..

if your dealer installs the SC, then i think you'd be ok, if you install the SC, and a problem developes, take the SC off. they come off very easy. Generally though, with all the SC on our type of car nowadays, i haven't seen any major engine problems come up on the board.

Normally I would say go with the warranty. Just for piece of mind. But since you have 15K on there, get the SC. Save some cash and get the warranty closer to 50K. It will cost a bit more, but you should be OK for a couple years depending on how much you drive.
