Saw a new five series!!!!!!!!!!!!

What will the cocky Ben Affleck wannabe's drive now? I mean it has got to be the most disgusting car I've seen since the box Volvo wagons of the 80's, Not to bad mouth BMW or offend anyone that owns one, but it is a REALLY hideous automobile. To add insult to injury the 530i was a turquoise/sky blue color. I pulled along side the driver at the stop light and gave him the "eww, did you just fart?" look.:shakehd:

Are you absolutley positive it was the 2004 5-sereis? I am not one to object to an honest opinion, but anyway you slice it, the car is blasphemous. I can't rationlize why anyone would say it looks "awesome"....but then again the guy I saw driving must of thought so. I just leave it as one of life's unexplained infinite complexities, right up there with "where do you go when you die?"

I think there is a reward for Chris Bangle's (current chief of the design dept. at BMW ) head in Germany where the latest series of cars was not recieved well at all by either the dealers or the buyers .Thank god the engineering dept. stillknows how to build a good suspension or else I will really have to begin to dream about Mercedes.

I saw one in the Bronx on Sunday. It was a pretty good looking car. I got a couple of pics of it in motion. The owner wasn't too happy about it though.

OKay scalbert, you're crazy! Seriously, I don't like the 7 or the new 5. I really worry about the upcoming 3. I wonder what he will do to that?

Have I lost consciousness and awaken in the twilight zone???

Now I probably shouldn't jump to conclusions, there's probably a very good explanation for differing point of views. We must of seen different vehicles, because the new 5 series I saw overwhelmed me with the sheer low-rent look of this sad POS. It looks like it was built to be an upscale Saturn. :'(

The greenhouse is too short vertically. It looks like they ran out of money so they skipped the body moldings. The headlights are out of a Hyundai refuge camp. The wheels are too small and the paint.... Damn the paint has no life to it. The trunk, I won't even touch on the trunk.

It's a thorough and complete disappointment.

If I wasn't a sane person, long ago would I've jumped of the side of a building in utter disbelief at the remarks you guys are making.

Haven't seen it in person yet, but it's really starting to grow on me after watching the new commercials of it cutting up those twisty roads.

i saw one because there is a BMW dealership down the street from me, and I was like...oooooh, and then whaaa? I was like...no, that is so ugly, i can't believe it. Ultimate driving machine but it's definitely ultimately aesthetically displeasing.

I saw it in person and thought it looked much better then pics

i have driven the old 540 and my uncles e320 and i HATED the benz, i would take my old peugeot over that thing. the ride just wasn't there for the price (and i know its not exactly fair to compare to the 540) but the 540 was really nice. i would def take the 5 over the E

that car is sweet! I still don't know if I like the 7 series or not, I got to drive on e of the older 540 manuals and that car is smooth, can't wait to try the 545 6 speed (even if it is twice the price of my type s 6er), the stylings finally caught up to date a little, the late 90's bimmers look really old already

maybe the one you saw was crappy or something but in silver or black it is tizight...
