S/c'er & IC are back in :)

Just got finished with the install. The idle is good, but the engine is bogging when the throttle is snaped. I guess I need to hook up the computer to the E-Manage to see what's going on. I suppose some of the setting may need to be reset; afetr all, it's been just sitting under my bed for about 6 months.
It's nice to have it back together and hear that whine again :wow: !

I added some fuel pulse width for the injection down low, now it picks right up .
The IC is really doing it's job. When the S/c'er was hot as hell, the IC was almost cold to the touch after running the car hard for about an hour.

I was wondering what happened to you and your car. Glad to see you're up and running. Hopefully the transmission holds up.

Yeah, I have a new tranny cooler and plan to change the fluid when doing oil changes. Hopefully the oil jet is a fix for this thing :fingerscossed: . It's running really good, new brake pads too .

I don't post too often 4/10's on 3rd shift is a bitch :~(

Well the car runs very fast. I have all the hbp pulleys on and have no pinging whatso ever up at the redline . That second fuel pump really keeps things under control !
I took a ride on the freeway and blew the doors off this ricer Nissan with all of those Nismo stickers. I think it was adressed up 200sx or whatever they use to drift. Wow!!! I'm having alot of fun with the car .

How are you tuning your car ? Are you using an A/F meter?

nice! i dont know how you lived without it. if i take off the blower for a long period of time, i will also sell the car. chemmech, do you mind sending me your map? i know you have the IC but i still want to see the settings for fuel and timing. you are running the 6psi pulley now right?
ive been thinking of getting a 7.25 psi pulley when the water injection goes in, any idea how fuel management will be?
btw, there is a place in SD that does dyno days. it is 40 bucks cash for 2 runs w/ printouts of afr. its in mid january.

yes. its dynoperformance, add the .com to it. they are generally american cars but ive dyno'd there once and it was nice to see all the muscle cars pull crazy numbers. there are usually at least 5 modded cobra's putting over 400 whp. they are in Santee. you have to signup to the forum and then register for the dyno day. its a hassle but its free. Oh, and DONT go there unless its a dyno day, you will pay double! i will probably go to the mid-june dyno day to get some runs in.

Chemmech, I remember the oil leak issue you had. Did you resolve it?
Seems lots of guys with FI have oil leak coming from rear valve cover. Any thoughts?

I had a rear main oil seal leak, twice before I found the real problem. I pulled the engine and changed it before giving it to Acura for the new tranny. This time they gave me the updated seal. My crankcase vent hose that goes to the throttle body, hidden, was kinked. Basically my crankcase had no way to vent all of the blow by when under boost. Took me 2 rear main seals to get this figured out. Solution, longer hose.
Are you sure it's the rear valve cover? I know the o-ring that goes on the adapter plate for the supercharger can easily get pinched, when installing and de-installing the s/c'er, and leak there. It's deceptive, because it's in that area around where the cam shaft is.

Damn . But glad you kept this car.

Yeah, rear valve cover since my buddy had oil full of fingers when touch right below rear valve cover. PCV was replaced and still oil coming out. He thinks to try oil catch tank and if continue then do leak compression test (or something like that) to see if rings gave up

Ok, I am going at 1 pm today for a baseline Dyno. I've never tuned the car yet, so it should be interesting to see what numbers they come up with.

Well there's good and bad news.
Bad news; low numbers Power(P) torque(T)
Run 1 (P)250.4 (T) 277.6 to 110mph
Run 2 (P)260.1 (T) 233 to 75 mph
Run 3 (P)264.9 (T) 233.3 to 75mph

Good News; it can be mproved through some tuning. They said I should be able to pick up around 70 more whp. He was surpised by how much torque it was making though, at 277 lb/ft. When your torque is higher than your HP, somethings very very off.
Oh well, next week I'm gonna have a bung welded in and have them tune the car .
Go ahead flame On , next week should be a big improvement though.

OK now I'm alittle pissed. At the dyno place the guy said "what you runnin about 3 to 5 psi?" "No should be at 9 psi." Anyway these poor numbers and his statement got me thinking. Anyway I mentioned in my other posts about the pcv valve being a possible culprit to low boost. So I put a pair of vise grips on the hose from the IC to the PCV valve thing. The car is totally different now. Now it peels out all the way to 3rd gear. way more boost. So I'll get the whole thing rechecked next week.
Anyone with FI should check their pcv valve, you might have the same problem I had.
:damit:
This totally explains my past rear main oil seal leaks :AAAArrrgggg: !!!!!!!!!

That would do it, a pinched PCV hose or shot pcv valve would definitely cause you to still get some good TQ and low HP. I had the same thing after I got my car back from the 3.5L conversion. When I rerouted the hose For some reason, it felt like my TQ went down after I unpinched it but it could've been psychological since the mid/high end pickup got much better.

Most of my boost was going straight through the pcv valve into the cranck case. Now I have another problem, the belt is slipping, hopefully anew belt will solve this problem.
It was a Dyno jet, sae corrected. No gauges installed.
