S/C'd CLS 6MT vs 350z 6MT
Late last Friday night, I was cruising on the express way looking for a race. I was stopped at a red light waiting for it to change when I noticed a silver 350z make a left turn onto the express way right in front of me. So when my light went green, I had to do some catching up since he had about 20 seconds on me.
Fortunately, he got caught at the next light, so I pull into the lane right of him. When the light went green, I started trolling for a race by slowly bringing up the rev's in each gear. When I shifted into 3rd, he nailed it and pulled ahead of me, so I nailed it and shot past him and then backed down since there was a red light just ahead. Then we came to a stop; him in the left lane and me in the center lane.
While waiting at the light I could hear the rev's of his engine up a bit so I knew the race was on. When the light changed, we launch at the same time. I got a good launch but started to spin in 1st around 5500 RPM, so I smoothly shifted into 2nd without a quick shift. At this point I had pulled one car on him. Between my shifts, he slight pulled a little back. At the end of 2nd around 7000 RPM, I had a 2 car lead and then shifted into 3rd. Again, I didn’t quick shift so he gained about 1/2 car back. At this point the road started to sweep left slightly. At the end of 3rd around 6500 RPM, I was now 3 cars ahead, then shifted into 4th and continued to accelerate. I had to really concentrate because we were in a slight left-hand sweeper. As we rounded the sweeper at around 110 MPH, I was 4 cars ahead now. However, just around the bend I could see city police lights blazing about 3/4 mile ahead. So we both back down to the legal limit. We both slowly drove by someone who had already been pulled over.
Damn we were lucky, that could have been one or both of us. I think I better cool it for a while.

man, so the s/c makes you go really really faster. I know a 6mt goes 5.9sec 0-60mph. You must have .5 sec faster now on the time to be putting a couple car lengths on the 350z right?

As for the 359z; I had 4 cars ahead, could have had a couple of more cars if I quick-shifted and then a couple of more cars if we weren't on a left-hand sweeper with me on the outside lane. So I could have gotten 7 to 8 cars in a straight ahead race with no curves.

Nevertheless, good kill those Z's need to be put in their place once in a while.
I am looking forward to matching up with a Greddy Twin Turbo Z in the future!! (from a roll of course!)

nice kill!!
run that sucker at the track and see what you can do.
Last time I was at the track running 13.6-13.8@102-103mph there was a late model Accord coupe with a comptech blower and automatic trans. He was running 14.0@100-101mph...moved out pretty good.
You running the pully that comes with the blower?

Had it been the SC pulley it would have been smaller to get more boost.

Just a little addition. I tried to get a young guy in a 350Z to run me earlier today but he would not bite. It was a decent looking Z with some type of body kit and rims; I never got next to him to get a good view. He seemed at first to be thinking about it but the first time I got on it he never tried anything.
