So we were at a redlight, 2 lanes that turn left. I pulled in behind him, because I didn't wanna sit next to him because I knew he wanted to race.

It was a 1996, because the license plate frame said: 1996 Collectors Edition.

We made the left turn, and it was on, he got on it, and so did I, not more than 2 car lengths behind him the whole time.

We had to slow because there was a car in front of us. It turned left, so he GUNS IT!

I did too and the next thing I knew I was 2 cars or less back, and touching down on 120 in a 35 MPH zone!!!

I let up, because this is in Fairfax County and the area is CRAWLING with cops.

We came to a red light, I was crusing along at 100. The light was RED, and he didn't BRAKE AT ALL!

He goes flying under it and pulls out of sight...

This guy was OFF THE HINGES!!!

I estimate he was doing at least 130 thru a 4 way Intersection without even slowing down...!

What a crazy night, anyone got spec's on these 1996 Vettes?

For the most part they are around 5 or low 5s 0-60 and mid 13s in the 1/4 mile. However, there were some limited production LT4 models that are even faster than that. Don't know the specs on those. Pretty much the guy must not have been shifting correctly or wasn't pushing it all the way if you were only two car lengths behind him the whole way to 120.

actually, i agree with Lucky 100%. it's a bummer to see cl-s owners with the literacy level of chalk.

 

This is not funny at all. I imagine myself coming from the intersection with the GREEN light and hitting that Vette and getting hurt or killed. This is 2nd degree murder in my opinion. This has nothing to do with a race.

I have done 115 on the highway (with no traffic) racing that GTX and felt 100% guilty. Triple digits through red lights and in 35mph streets should be immidiate arrest and jail time with no bond in my opinion (I know in CT anything over 105mph is immidiate jail no matter who your lawyer is).
