Past weekend... had a few runs with a buddy's Rsx 6-speed Type S in my TLS from a stop light to around 65 mph...i also bumped the rev limiter...2nd light..he gets a great launch and gets me out of the hole..i start reeling him him once VTEC hit, but again we shut it down around 70. Both of us have CAI for mods... are the RSX's that fast...i was pretty disappointed that I lost even my friend is a really good manual driver. DO you think i would start pulling on him in third gear?
Second part of the story was on the way to work on Monday... this chick in a black O3' CLS comes up on me in the left and starts riding my ass..i slip into the right lane and let her pass...she's going at a pretty good clip...i was like what the hell, I'll chase ya for fun..i dodge traffic and come up on her in the left lane and ride her ass this time lol. She goes WOT I think because she put about six cars on me...i wasn't even in SS mode though so she kinda caught me by surprise..props to the 6 speed CLS though..damn quick little coupes...i wish i had that 6 speed in my TLS... Does anyone know how much faster a CLS manual is compared to a TL Type S? p.s. my buddy is getting a cybernation turbo kit installed on his rsx this week (300 whp or more) ..damn i am about to get owned...

 

The CL-S 6 speed traps about 3-4mph more than the 5AT, so thats a pretty decent advatage. 2nd & 3rd are the strong gears for the 6 speed, especially 3rd from about a 65mph roll.

generally cl-s should win...but given a good driver there's no reason why the rsx-s wouldn't be able to hang...cls/tls does have the edge in my opinion though

Yup i ran against my friends 01 TLS from a 80km/hr roll i was in 3rd and i just pulled bus lengths on him up to 120km/hr.

what kind of car do you have noodle boy? and didnt they only start making the TLS in 02?...someone second that for me....

TL Type S was from 02-03

But the 2nd gen TL that includes the Type S variants, ran from 99-03.

 

 

err ok must be 02 then.. i thought the tls and cls were 01-03...

but ya i ran against my buddies tls in my cls 6mt - it wasn't even close.

 

yeah cause you have a manual...better gearing...i was asking about an rsx type s though originally in the first post...
