Rolling rear fenders...?

How hard would it be to roll the rear fenders?

theres no plastic shield or anything... their just metal... should be easy right?

I definately need to bend up those metal ledges that jut into the wheel well off the rear fenders... those things are gonna cause a blow-out.

I just used a crescent wrench, and very slowly bent that edge upwards...

It took me 10 or so runs along the fender to get it up out of the way enough. I was worried I would crack the paint if I went any faster.

I also had to use a dremmel to take away some of the plastic on the rear of the wheel well, cuz it was rubbing too.

I guess it just depends on how much you need to roll it.

You can order a tool from Tirerack..that attached to the hub and rolls the fender perfectly.

Check the FAQ by Chodthewacko. There's a section on rolling the fenders.

The guy who did my sprigs suggested an al,uminum baseball bat. You roll the car back and forth while wedging the bat between the top of the tire and the well. The amount of inward pressure you place an the bat creates the roll when rolling the car.

DO NOT DO THIS WITH THE CAR RUNNING>

Sounds archaic?? This is how I. ve heard of some new car dealers doing it also.....but, IT WORKS!!!

I have heard this too. But if you go that route make sure the person doing it knows what they are doing. I have seen someone do it and end up having the paint crack on them.

I've looked at the tire rack site and I don't see any such tool?
Any more info would be greatly appreciated.

I think you can actually get a tool that is meant for rolling fenders.

They have it...but maybe they only sell to dealers...but there is a tool that fits on the hub of the car and rolls around the fender...I dont advise the baseball bat...as it is not very precise....it works...but if you do it wrong..you got new flares...
