Rockblocker tails

i recently tried installing the CL tail light tint from Rockblocker. on the first attempt, i saw it to be difficult to install them without their being a bubble up top where the light's corner begins to curve.

the area i speak of is in this picture, just to the left of the back up lamp.

it is impossible to place the tint film without there being a triangulated bubble here. no matter if i tried just covering that spot and disregarding the rest, i still had a huge bubble. i don't think i can say i know of another 2G CL with actual Rockblocker tint on the tails. a search just led me to find two members with their entire tails tinted. and both of them used some sort of spray-on material.

i know of members tinting the lower section(red) on their '03 tails. but that is where it is easy to install said tint film. i just want to know if anyone has successfully placed tint on their tails without having bubbles.

I have them on my car and it takes a certain touch. I have redone mine about five times, but now they are near perfect. It's not an easy thing to do. Try stretching them a little while they are in position on the tailight. Then with a credit card quickly try to eliminate SOME of the water from behind them. Then you should be able to reposition them slightly to get them perfectly in place. After that just push all of the water out with a credit card and leave them. I know the spot you are talking about is tough, but with enough effort you should be able to get it

so you didn't have to use a blowdryer or anything of the sort? the last time i tried, i used one and it was drying the soap/water mixture, just as i thought. which direction do you stretch it from? from bottom to top, top to bottom, etc.?

how did you redo them five times? was it all within the first install or did you reposition even after the initial time?
thanks

i installed mine on the first shot without any bubbles, cuts or creases.

simply follow the instructions and use a blow dryer and the squeege included.

actually, there were some tiny bubbles after the install, but they evaporated in a few days...

My main problem was the lower outside corners would bubble up, so I applied them according to the directions then just peeled the problem areas up and pulled outward sort of stretching them towards the outside. I never needed a hairdrier but like I said it took me 5 times to do them without any bubbles

the hair dryer REALLY helps; the heat stretches the material in a way you would not be able to otherwise.

i did it outside when it was 105 degrees and it came out fine. it just took a lil muscle and a lot of soapy water spray
