RL Calipers

Does anyone know if the RL calipers will fit on a CL-S? I saw them yesterday & there hot. They say Acura on them & there glass black. Has anyone done this or know of someone who has? Cause when I called the dealership the guy had no idea if they would fit.

well, brand new from dealership is around 400 per side, so your looking in the area of 800 NOT including rotors and pads. rotors are about 200, and the brake pads are 150, your looking at the price of a rotora BBK.

with custom brackets they would probably fit, but you have to find a place where they could do it and at what price ???

auto 04 TL have the same calipers as the 99-03 TL
but auto 04 TL doesn't have the same knuckle as the 04 MT
so the 04 TL ain't a direct fit, the rl won't either.

MT TL has 310mm discs
RL has 320mm discs

RL calipers are bigger than MT TL calipers.

RL
calipers : $240x2
discs : $99x2
pads : $162
= $840 no brackets designed yet

So wait your saying TL, but it's the same specs as the CL, right? So that means that I'd have to have some one make custom extenders. I mean they just took tight cause they say 'Acura' on them. & I can get Brembo rotors for arround $250 on eBay w/ pads, then all I have to get in the capilers... Ohhhhhh... now I don't know what I should do. I'll have to get a price on the brackets I'll need.

The 3rd gen TL is not the same as the 2nd gen CL.

And as for the bracket, there are no prices cause you'd have to have someone custom make them.

I'm new to the Acura scene. I've had Honda all my life. Even though they are they same. RL is something I'm especially not familiar w/.

Shit happens. I wouldn't worry about it. Those RL calipers would look on the CL though. If you want to upgrade the calipers on the CL, I swapped mine for a set from the NSX. They are a direct fit.

I would also do a quick search about those "Brembo." They are Brembo blanks that are drilled and slotted by another company. Be careful about getting them. Read what other guys have said about them. I have the Rotora slotted and I have had no problems with them.

you can get the Rotora to say "ACURA" easilly, a little Powdercoating and vinyl would do the trick. They are def large enough to fit the type.

Look @ that... they ARE the same... Thank you guys for all the input. I think I've found someone in Miami w/ a machine shop that is going to make the brackets if I end up getting the RL Calipers.

Oh & Type S Zero, are those the dealership prices where your @? Cause mine said almost double that. If they are, please let me know. Thanks.

The autos are, but the Manuals which have the 4 Piston Brembos that say Acura on them are entirely different. They MT TL has a different knuckle than a AT TL.
