RES 1/4 miles gains

Okay,

I could be bored, so I peaked at the maxima.org. Maxima boys there are drolling about 2002 6-sp stock times of 14.3 @ 94 MPH from novice stick driver shifting at 6300 rpms.

Also, the new 2002 6-sp Maxima was dynoed at 220 lb.ft of torque at 4000 rpm and a maximum of 200 HP at 5200.

The question what does the RES to our 1/4 mile times.

RES dynos showed a 200 lb.ft all upto 5500 ( no headers) and upto 6500 with headers.

What do you think?

I personally believe you will see a .2 - .25 gain in the quarter.

So on good day with headers and intake and RES 14.2 to 14.5 is a fair time?

If indeed the production RES will put out 15hp/tq I'm sure 14.3-14.5 will be capable. What I am wondering is this. Is the production version of the RES going to have the same gains shown on the dynos that we saw? I dont know. I asked the ? but never got a response. Assuming that it does though, I I'm at 14.5@96 @60degrees with all my mods listed. Adding the RES im sure I will be able to hit 14.3 in the same conditions. With just headers/intake I ran a 14.6.

Damn, if the 200hp number is correct for the Maxima it's losing 22% at the wheels (assuming it is rated for 255hp). That's pretty horrible for a manual. I wonder if it really puts out 255 at the crank.

What's the link to that dyno graph?

I'll be a tiny bit more optimistic and say .2-.3 in the 1/4
