For what reason? Tranny?

What would you get out of it??? They buy back the car, but how much would you get? Money? A new CLS???

Well, hypothetically speaking.......of course.....

I think they would give you all your down payment back, plus any payments you've made into your loan, but they would subtract usage (milage) out of the payoff.

And yes, this is due to tranny issues.

I wish you the best in getting them to do this. I know it's been done, but you at least have to qualify for the lemon law for it to happen.

Mine went twice in under 10K miles and they wouldn't do squat.

Unfortunatley, a manual is not in my future as I have a degenerative disc in my lower back. Some days I just wouldn't be able to drive it. What I'm hoping to have happen is to get a Nissan Murano for myself, and a 350Z for the wife. I also have an 03 corvette.

If Acura offered to pay me a very high price for the car (like, almost full retail of a new 03 model) i probably would take it. And then i'd go buy an 03 6 speed

Actually, i'd be happy if they offered to cover my tranny to 250k miles. Or did a 6-speed swap. THAT would be cool.

Well, tranny number 3 is slipping for me now and I don't feel safe driving the car any longer. The first time it went out, I almost got in an accident. It is a shame though, I have loved this car and it has given me many great miles. I havne't had any problems other than the tranny, which I can't say for other cars I've owned.

Depends on what price Acura pay for it. If I only lose 6 grands or less for our 01 CL with 22,500 miles on, then we would, but really impossible right?

I was in your same boat. I had two transmissions replaced, one at 8K one at 10K miles. I contacted Acura and asked them what they were going to do for me, and their response was "It's a warrantied item. As long as it's warrantied, we'll honor that and continue to fix it."

Since I didn't qualify for the lemon law, I really didn't have a leg to stand on legally. Now if it happened a third or fourth time, I may have considered some kind of a resolution involving Acura. But I didn't want to wait to see if it was going to happen again.

There are a number of other laws that you can file under. Since I was past 12,000 miles, I didn't qualify under the lemon law either. I will keep you posted and let you know how it turns out.
