>>Replacing Shift Knob<<

I got a MOMO Shift Knob as a gift from a friend, and I would really like to install it, but it's a bit harder than it seems. You see, Acura made it so their shift knob plugs into a metal peice connected to the boot (by ziptie), so u have that clean look going from your boot to your knob. With the MOMO, it just slips right on to the rod using an adapter. However, there is nowhere for the boot to go, or for the boot to be held up like the stock one. I'm wondering if theres a way to install this knob, and have it so the boot is held up and looks nice and clean like the stock one.

If anyone has done this to their car or has any helpful tips/tricks PLEASE let me know and post some "HOW TO" Pics!!

Thanks!!~

You have to be creative & make something work. Search on it. Several members have done different things with shift knobs.

This might give you some help. Also give you insight as to what other issues you might run into.

I have an S2000 knob in my CL...to keep the boot up, i went to a hardware store and bought two rubber grommets used for plumbing I think. They're just wide enough to fit over the shifter (with the knob removed obviously). I put a little super glue on the first one and held it there for a while, then put everything else back with another black rubber grommet on top so you don't see the holes where the stock knob clipped in. It looks really good. i'd take a picture but my car is at the mechanic right now

Momo makes a boot adapter that repaces the lower screw on collar
