Why?? There is not enough back pressure to gain anything noticeable. Plus, the HO2S2 needs to be in there or else a DTC will be set.

I thought you ran over a cat and were wondering how to clean it off your front end and undercarriage.

You will lose valuable torque and I've dyno tested this to prove it.
Where do you guys come up with removing the cat for more power?

Sonor, this will yield good gains on an FI car, maybe thats where they get it from. My friends WRX has no cats, uppipe, downpipe, and skunk2 catback .. good for about 40-50WHP

also helps spool up time

That is on a turbo vehicle where back pressure was causing boost to drop. Plus, it is not the norm on most cars.

We may expect to see 6 - 7 WHP at best on an NA engine.

I heard if you get caught without a catalytic convertor in CA, your fine will be $1500. I am not sure in NY.

haha, hence emphasis on "if you get caught", considering you drive a g35c, you should be fine

it's not considered a "fix it ticket" cuz i guess you intentionally did something to alter it. i guess that's no different from "accidentally tinting ur side windows" but i've heard stories of having a cat delete pipe/removing the cat entirely that is a horrific ticket...

iono how much you drive ur car, but even that, im not sure how the cop would "know" persay that you have ur cat delete pipe or ur cat removed for that matter unless he got under the car.
